Solving for the culprit is easy. You don't even have to pay attention to the case, you just have to remember whose family members or friends were killed/induced to commit suicide by the culprit. If multiple people are in that situation, the cuter one is general the killer (that maxim also works on its own). As for the cases, I've say I've gotten the basic idea behind most of them, though it's a minority where I actually get the whole trick.
Detective Movies Contest 2013: Information Thread  Current Faceoff

"The energies of our system will decay; the glory of the sun will be dimmed, and the earth, tideless and inert, will no longer tolerate the race which has for a moment disturbed its solitude. Man will go down into the pit, and all his thoughts will perish. The uneasy consciousness, which in this obscure corner has for a brief space broken the contented silence of the universe, will be at rest. Matter will know itself no longer. 'Imperishable monuments' and 'immortal deeds,' death itself, and love stronger than death, will be as though they had never been."

Not exactly. Sometimes there are 4-5 suspects and none of them have a trustworthy alibi.
Out of all 574 episodes (Actually.. 550 about. Because I skipped a couple that weren't subbed.)
Very few episodes, I realized who the culprit was. And VERY few did I actually figure out how the crime was committed.

Same here, though I was watching for the enjoyment of it, not really trying to solve for the actual criminal. Though if I wanted to, I could possibly attempt to try and solve the mystery. And I know, sometimes, it can be easy, depending on the situation.

Yep, but mostly AO's . The only ones I remember would be the first live action and the Shiragami case.

Some are really obvious.
But a lot of the clues are somewhat related to Japanese clues/hints dealing with the characters/language.
So those are a bit hard to understand..

But some are easy because they're very simple cases.

Usually the anime only ones are on the more simpler side, usually.

I love that kind of cases. Especially the episodes that are all about Japanese language.

Sorry! I didn't know there was a similar thread.
My bad.
