Conan 566 preview

Well, ratings went up when they decided to air a new episode every week for the last 1/3 of the year last year. So I think that might be a reason.
also, do you want almost nothing to happen in each episode like Naruto: Shippuden or the end of One Piece's Enies Lobby arc instead? 

Thanks. I don’t watch either Naruto or One Piece, but thankfully DC isn’t like those shows where fillers last for 15 or 20 episodes. What's annoying me about those episodes is how uncreative those writers are, It’d be really nice if they try to be innovative every once in a while. And yeah, I do realize I’m asking for too much!

I'd like to see some AOs based on side characters.  You know, like the few they've done with Eri?  Like those, except maybe not as blasphemous as the last Kisaki VS case, and without Conan.  I'd like to see those sort of Gaiden stories.

Agreed. It's probably a bit difficult to come up with a limitless supply of filler involving a single character and have it be fun and original. I'd love to see some development of side characters. There could be an episode following the police without Conan popping up, maybe an episode focused on Ran where she isn't spending half of it thinking about Shinichi, or an occasional case that happens entirely in Osaka without Conan being involved. Sure, it is 'Detective Conan' but there's such a large cast that it would be interesting to see some development of side characters.

And, if all else fails, they have 4 volumes of Magical Kaitou they could animate between the Conan manga episodes.

The best thing is that he appeared one minute and solved the case while Heijji was almost 30 minutes (in real life, more in Anime/Manga time) to come up with the same deductions

Agreed. Also, I always believed that something that would be a cool idea would be to make a 13 episode or so spin-off starring Heiji. We'd also see Kazuha, Otaki, Heizo, Kazuha's Dad, and Heiji's mom, a lot more. They could even put Conan in there for like a minute by having him listen to Heiji brag about solving cases. Of course, it might not even be a good idea, but I thought that it would be interesting.

Also, is anyone else surprised to see Ran with her hair pulled back? I don't think it looks very good... :/

When this episode comes out, I want a GIF of Conan spinning in that chair.

I just assumed it was a different character and the animators got lazy.

No, it's (likely) Ran.  She puts her hair in a ponytail when she does karate, and she's wearing her gi.

Really they should just do all of the cliched cartoon (and Nickelodeon wannabe sitcoms) ideas for Conan episodes. I demand an episode where Agasa makes inventions for Conan so he can go on the rollercoaster!

I'd like an AO episode dealing with Conan and Ai without the Detective Boys in a crazy, wacky situation since Ai is cool and deserves to do something besides babysitting Ayumi, Mitsuhiko, and Genta.

Some anime-only episodes focused around other characters sound better. It seems like EVERY anime only is Ran+Kogoro+Conan, I actually liked the anime-only with Shinichi's parents. (The one where Yukiko spyies on him)
