I've basically come round to think that the movies are at least somewhat canon. I think Kid actually DOES know Conan's secret since the third movie. I think the explanation for Kogoro's leaving the police force we're given in the second one is perfectlyvalid since it isn't explained in the manga and it certainly ties in with Kogoros character development since. I'm not sure what to make of movie 13 and usually don't count Irish as a canon BO member, even if doesn't necessarily conflict with any of my theories.

Personally, I don't count the ShinRan moments and AiCon moments because since Gosho didn't necessary write them. He did say that he's satisfied with what the anime-making people created in the movies. So maybe that's why he's going along with it.

You certainly do in DC. Genta has made numerous references to girls' butts or breasts. Also, the rule of thumb seems to be that this puppy love does NOT evolve into something serious. I don't say it's actual pedophilia but the Westermarck effect is a mechanism that is supossed to prevent pedophilia and incest. If it doesn't exist in Ghosho's world then there must be many pedophiles apart from all the murderers.
