Heiji x Kazuha thread

I had several discussions about the coupling of Heiji x Kazuha.
Well I would like to know about your feelingconcerning this coupling.

We know for sure that Kazuha is in love with Heiji.
But what about Heiji loving Kazuha?

I'm looking for your feeling. What do you think about it and WHY? Did you find some hints in the manga that prove it?
I mean, something different from "He said "if you move, I'll kill you" in the cliffhanger scene of the mermaid story - vol 28". Yes because, he could say the same line to his best friend. This is a strong meaning but there isn't any meaning of "love" inside.

I would like to know what you think about it.

I think there's a good argument that the feelings to go both ways.  In one episode (I'm too sleepy to find it right now), Heiji says he feels funny whenever he's around Kazuha.  Does that count?

Then again, since they play the typical anime "I'll-never-say-it" couple, there may be just as much hard evidence out there supporting Heiji being interested in Shinichi (Movie 13's "You'll have to come.  I'll be waiting", for example) and for [iurl=http://forums.dctp.ws/viewtopic.php?p=2909#p2909]Kazuha having the hots for Ran[/iurl] (hee hee!).

Well I noticed this example (and I wasn't the only one laughing about it in the theater T__T) but I would say where is the love point in this exemple? I know this a fan service scene. I'm used to it but I just still CAN'T see any love interest from Heiji to Shinichi.

Funny how Heiji is so much more vocal of his affections towards Shinichi/Conan than any such thing toward Kazuha, isn't it?  Hmmm......

The best argument for Heiji and Kazuha ending up together is the same argument that would work for Shinichi and Ran ending up together - and that is the perceived fact that Aoyama-sensei LOVES the whole childhood-friends-turned-lovers scenario.

Well you are right when you say that Aoyama loves the childhood-friends-turned-lovers scenario. (I reread it in an interview of Aoyama in the Conan Doriru 3 days ago).

I think Heiji's just slightly dim when it comes to Kazuha. In the case with the magic show, he did say that he can't figure out why thinking of Kazuha with other guys bugs him, and unconciously he deeply treasures the omamori she gave him. He's just so used to thinking of her as his best friend that he hasn't thought about her as anything else yet. He's kinda straightforward like that. If someone just came out and said it to him, though, I think he'd realize how he felt.

Hattori's still got a bit of a way to go to catch up with Kudou.  Kudou at least had imagined himself with Ran (Episode 1/File 1).  Hattori, not even close.

That's true but Shinichi have 2 points Hattori doesn't have:
1) Shinichi became Conan et started to completly realize his feeling because of this new state (?). First Ran told him (to Conan, not to Shinichi but the result is the same) that she loves him. And then he had to face the difficulties to be close with her and not to be able to tell her his feelings.
2) Shinichi (or Conan) is more often present in the manga than Hattori. Aoyama can't develop a similar problem for Hattori because when he appears in a story, the main plot is about solving a mystery (which seems to be more important actually to him than thinking about his relationship with Kazuha).

And actually, Hattori has also a comical role in the story. That's why every time you have a loving stuff in the plot, it comes to an abrupt end.

But that's not the reason why I'm looking for some proof of his feeling. In fact, I just feel Heiji is more distant with Kazuha and his feeling for her since the Magic Show story. It's seems to be on the decline...

Not all people realize when they are in love...  Sometimes it's even hard to know if you are in love or not...

As it was stated above: Heiji sees Kazuha as his best friend and never tried to look at her from a different angle, that's why he can't know what he really feels about Kazuha.

Well, that's sounds stupid to think like that but I can't help it.
even if I try to imagine many kind of stories, I only can see the canon. If even one of my fancy ideas looks like too OOC, I alway finish to give it up.

Actually Kazuha was created not because Heiji needed a girlfriend but because the character of Heiji became to much famous for the fan. With Kazuha, Heiji could become funnier because they together looks like a MANZAI pair (= an osakan typical comical duo). Aoyama didn't create kazuha only in the purpose of getting Heiji a girlfriend.
