The budget and ratings are probably the primary considerations when it comes to the continuance of a series... If it's not revenue generating or not exceeding the forecasted revenue then they don't have no other choice but stop airing... I've read a lot about good TV shows that got cancelled... Fortunately, most of my favorites are still airing...
