First Look at Rikiya Koyama as Kogoro's New Voice

Here is a minute long clip, which is a sample clip of Conan and Kogoro talking. This is what Kogoro will sound like with his new voice actor, Rikiya Koyama. So what does everyone else think?

He sounds nothing like the Kogoro we know but him looking like one of those crazy gangsters that usually end up getting into stupid situations than actually intimidating people has won me over.

By the way...is Conan making fun of his voice?

jks, ofc it will take time to adapt to this change but its not bad, i mean kogoro is meant to have a funny voice to show incompetence :)

The change will probably be hard.
But if we get used to it, it will be bearable.
I agree with the last post.
If  ;), :D, ;D, ::), :P, :-X, :o or >:D are attached, that paragraph may not be 100% serious. Seriously.

It's alright. Definitely not bad, but it'll take some time to get used to.

Pretty good, but I agree, we will need time to like it more. A little lower than the old voice's.

This is closer to how I actually imagined Kogoro's voice before I first watched the anime. Rikiya Koyama bumps up the arrogance that I thought Kamiya Akira should have expressed more strongly, but Rikiya doesn't use a range of pitches like Kamiya which I really liked when I first heard Kogoro's voice. Rikiya also makes Kogoro sound a bit younger in my opinion. Rikiya's "HiiinYAaaa" sound when Conan darts him isn't as good as Kamiya's, but I'm hoping he will get better at that over time. The new voice will definitely take some getting used to.

It's about as good as we could have realistically hoped for and at times he does sound very similar to Kamiya so...ok.

At 00:32, he sounds like he should be one of the weirder characters in one of the 3D Zelda games.

Maybe it's just me, but it sounds rather forced. Then again, I don't pay attention to voices much, anyway. Unless they're too shrill. I'm sure I'll come to like it, like everything else.

I didn't realize that the old voice actor was leaving - why is he leaving?

But yeah, he's not bad. =) He makes Kogoro sound older, which I'm not sure I like, since I've always imagined Kogoro to be somewhat young, but I'm sure (as others have said) I'll get used to it.

EDIT: nevermind, I found the other thread.

His voice sounds rougher, but I guess it's okay ;D
No amount of apologies will express how much I regret it.
