Kogorou's Voice Actor To Be Replaced (Confirmed)

Come on, she's more senior than everyone else ! Either on music career as a singer (start from 1990) or as a voice actress (1986)

Well, the thing is, he's in his 60s. She's only 42, and Kogorou and Haibara rarely have scenes together, so I doubt they exactly had time to be the best of mates (not to mention the fact that Haibara doesn't have a wealth of lines as it is  ).

As I was mentioning to GinRei earlier, 60 in anime voice acting is like you're 25 in any other profession (except baker; you can do that foreverz). I'm 98.78% certain that YTV asked him to take a pay cut (as he specifically mentions "contract issues" in his blog entry) to accommodate the lower budget, he rejected the offer, and they had to move on.

Yes, but only because the replacement seiyuu voices another favorite character of mine. It was a good replacement, but it was effective not only because of the talent behind it, but because Shiratori wasn't a prominent character when he was replaced. Kogoro appears in almost every episode, though. I can't think of anyone off the top of my head that can replace this one without it being a huge difference.

Guess what, his 63rd birthday is today (Sept. 18)!

T_T I'll miss his voice later on. Though we will have plenty of episodes with him, but still... his laughing & voice was priceless. He did a great job.

You know that it was replaced because the first VA died in an accident, right? I don't think they intended to replace him anyway.

I know all about the first seiyuu's death. I'm saying that it will be hard to compare a seiyuu replacement for Shiratori (a character who wasn't all that prominent when replaced) in comparison to one for Kogoro (who's in virtually every episode and has pretty much "defined" the role). Even if they find an excellent seiyuu to replace him, it would take some getting used to.
