Being a hardcore ShinRan fan, I used to loathe Ai because everyone paired Ai and Conan up. But then I saw the Warm Ocean case, and a few other Ai-centric ones, and I'm like, "awww, Ai's so sweet!" lol.

I might turn into a ConanxAi fan. Who knows. x3 but that's seemingly impossible since I'm reading ShinxRan fanfics most of the time I'm on the compy.

This is one concept I will never understand.  I have never disliked a character for "pairing" reasons.  The concept is petty and foreign to me.  Mind explaining how one can dislike a character for something like that?  I know you don't dislike Ai's character anymore, but I would like an opinion on the matter.

trying to explain the logic of caring much about pairings in a detective anime that you already spent a ridiculous amount of time just watching, not to mention talking about non-pairing related things about the show, and perhaps also the many other anime or manga you currently enjoy, is most likely impossible. Especially since only Shinichi doesn't have a blatantly obvious choice anyway (maybe Mitsuhiko too).

And really, can anyone tell me that the relationships are even 1/4 as interesting as in School Rumble? (as an example. I admit I don't read many manga that focus on relationships (ironically I only read School Rumble at first for the humor))

And also, none of the relationships are done well enough that they make you actually feel happy or sad for the characters just because of it except the Takagi and Sato relationship. (although the other ones are done well enough that they are at least very fun to read/watch, and I like the characters already so that's ok). But that last part is more my opinion than anything.

One of my favorite parts is in the anime Shrine Code case, where Ran is explaining what happened to Shinichi on the cell, and in the background we see Sonoko waving her arms around animatedly while explaining to the police. Makes me laugh every time.

Oh, and in the Desperate Revival case, when Shinichi lifts up Ran and is about to kiss her, Ran goes all, "WTF?!?!" and stares at Sonoko. Then Sonoko grins and waves a board that says, "Just go with the flow!"

That was funny.

Too true... I never cared for her character at first, but the more I see these little things the more I like her

I totally agree about Sonoko.

I loved it when Ran first suspects in "Jimmy Kudo Revealed (part 1-4)" / "Caught Up With the Great Detective! Two Murder Cases! (2 Hour Special)" and Yukiko says that Shinichi taught Conan stuff and Conan waves his hand around and says that he love Shinichi-niichan. I can't find that screen cap anywhere. Conan is so cute there.

I love that scene in 324 - where Heiji was about to say whatever he was gonna tell Kazuha. Conan was on the phone blushing, remember? He was ACTUALLY EXPECTING HEIJI TO SAY SOMETHING ROMANTIC. xD Dang, that's priceless.

...who looks suspiciously like Vermouth... (well, in volume 47 at least)

Jealous!Ran is pretty much the only Ran I can stand, so these scenes are always highlights to me.

Harley was stupid though. And Anita Haily which just sounded like they where desperate for a name that worked.
