I CANNOT STAND a reptitive boring romance in an anime. The most unique one was Cardcaptors Sakura. You mean to tell me a kid show is the best romance. Why does Japan insist on either doing the CHILDHOOD FRIEND, or THE GUY WHO SAVED ME WHEN I WAS A CHILD? Geez! Whatever happened to chance encounter? I can't stand that! Yes, I am a Detective Conan fan, but only of the manga. I've never seen the anime, only a few movies or OVAs which seemed interesting to me. And the manga has continued the main storyline much faster than the anime (or at least that's what I've heard), so it was still okay. SZS doesn't have a main storyline which eventually connects all the episodes/chapters (I actually tried the manga too), it's all pretty episodic.

I always come across animes that has good plot, interesting story, but has icky romantic stuff...
Why can't they minimize that (if they can't remove it)? Basically, for me, it's ruining the show!!!!
For example, in DC, the story is good (excellent) but aaaaahhhhh RAN I HATE YOU!!!!

I was going to call you a 12 year old. Then I realized that I don't like that much romance in manga or anime outside of School Rumble (which is more comedy than romance anyway) so I guess that would be idiotic to say.

I'm a bit of a melting pot when it comes to anime. I don't hate anime comedies but I don't watch many of them. I like action, drama and mystery all rolled into one anime. The last one that gave me all of that and a bag of chips was Death Note, even tho I did not like the ending. I wanted Lite to see the error of his thinking and I didn't want L to die. Oh well, I didn't write it so I have little say in it...lol

Mind the spoilers, even though it's a quite famous manga/anime, I doubt everyone already read/saw it.

Anyways, I didn't mind Light staying the "bad" guy. It was refreshing, a real "bad" guy as protagonist  (well, "bad" is still discussable. In my opinion, he had good intentions and a strong sense of justice, but when he suddenly got extremely powerful he just went over the top and lost track of who he actually was. But I'm sure some people agree with his actions, and would've supported him in real life just as much as his fans did in the manga) who didn't change his mind and sticked to the plan to the end. He thought he was doing the right thing after all. If he never found the death note, he probably would've become a very good police man comparable to L. Maybe they would've established the same relationship the both of them had when Light made his shinigami temporarily seal his memories away.

On the other hand, I didn't like L dying either. He was my favourite character in the manga (yes, above Light. I just couldn't make myself like him, he was too merciless I guess) and I really liked his little quirks. I didn't really like how Light came to his end either, but I guess that was the only possible outcome after all.

Yeah, I like all animes too. Sadly, there is romance in almost every anime/manga. Except DBZ....they just simply did it, had babies and went on to fight aliens trying to destroy the planet...then had more babies. But if I'm going to sit through a romance, I'd rather sit through one that has to do with the story, is interesting and well thought out....and more importantly it cannot be the same old dumb childhood friend or save me young thing. It stops getting interesting when its been done so many times.
And I definitely didn't like the end to death note...Lite should've realized that he was wrong, but instead he dies.

Yeah! Whats up with American dub versions? And they don't sound so fake and phony on regular American cartoons. But I can name a few animes that sucks dub....the best dub I've ever seen was xxxHolic....man its so much like Japanese version that I'm too satisfied. I don't even like Naruto's dub as much as the Japanese version...I liked Matantei Loki's better too because Loki has an awesome accent....They need to do it like they mean it or else its a burn!!!!!  >:(

ok guys I'm done thinking of witty ways to say this. Stop using terrible dubs as examples when I've seen like 20 great dubs made in the last 3 years. (and I don't even pay much attention to anime dubs anymore) Hell, the only bad dub I've seen recently is Yugioh 5Ds which is so bad that it's good.

i dont know why you guys are hating romance. There isnt such romance things, just in the movies. And in the episodes, I really dont see much scenes with romance (and its sad for me).
Conan is solving cases:80%.
Maybe romance is just 10 %.
And its sad that the BO just is 10%,too.Or more? I dont know. I just wanted to say that there isnt much romance in the anime/manga. And an anime/manga has to have romance (not 100% but 20% are OKAY).
But hey its my opinion. And dont think that I am a child or something like this I am nearly 18 .

Ran is my most favourite character. Not because of her "crying" or her "i love shinichi" thing. Its because of her character. I like the way she behaves, her karate thing, her faithful, her strengthens ( and with strengthens I dont mean the karate thing I mean (like Ai said before) her strengthens of the character, her courage and so on.

Is it really that obvious? That I don't watch comedies in anime, that is. Because I watch comedies on t.v. and I do have a sence of hummour...lol

My name here tho has nothing to do with that by the way. I just some times wonder what Conan would be like if he let a darker side come out and play for a bit.
