Discussion Thread: Detective Conan 1,051-1,054

Post by DCUniverseAficionado »

[Kor's 2nd edit:]

Based on the poll results, users seem to be fine with reading spoilers not inside spoiler boxes, so from now on, putting new spoilers from leaks or untranslated chapters is no longer mandatory. Please remember this only applies to the case discussion threads, and not any other topic or board.

[Kor's edit:]

'Sup, people. As you can see, I added a poll to this topic to see if those who are still around would like us to do away with our current spoilers policy. As in, would you like to have discussions with new spoilers without having to put them in spoiler boxes?
Since the forum isn't really active nowadays, I want to know if the remaining user base wants us to keep things the same, or perhaps most of us don't mind spoilers so the spoiler boxes aren't even needed at this point.

As stated in the above image, please continue to use spoiler boxes for the first three days in which a file is available. However, due to legal restrictions, we kindly ask that you do NOT post any links in this topic to any Japanese raw files or English scanlations. For more information on this matter, please click here.

1,051 spoiler pics are now out (albeit in very low quality due to their small size).

(UPDATE:

Spoiler pics of better quality have since appeared.)

Here's a Shōnen Sunday teaser for 1,051, courtesy of Baka:
Spoiler:
"Next issue: DB, Conan, Kobayashi, Wakasa are on a chicken ranch and Amuro will appear."
No break next week—we can expect 1,052 spoilers at this time next week.

well here's a link to better quality spoiler images + descriptions: https://imgur.com/a/bX8qJw7https://imgur.com/a/bX8qJw7
although the language is in Italian so probably need a google translator to translate it

spoiler...
Spoiler:
so it seems there's a corpse with the same face as someone who is still alive suggesting the possiblity that one of the body is wearing a facial mask... and there's a discussion about a bird and somehow the word crow was brought up as well as a recall to Renya Karasuma... ?! Anyways, seems like some major players are involved with Bourbon and his subordinate from the movie as well as Rumi and them actually meeting in the bus while Rumi seems interested in him interacting with Conan... quite exciting...

Here are translations of the higher quality spoiler pics:
Spoiler:
Page 1
Side text: Kazami has been locked down. And besides him, a corpse...

Kazami: Yes...
Kazami: My deepest apologies, but I don't know where I am...

Kazami: I was pursuing the man who we suspected to have stolen a large amount of bombs used for drilling, but...
Kazami: I was taken by surprise and got hit from behind... When I regained consciousness, i was in some kind of basement...

Amuro: How about GPS?
Kazami: Negative... It seems my smartphone has been taken by that man, so...

Kazami: I-I had no other choice but to borrow the cellular that was in the pocket of the corpse that was thrown in this basement and call you with it...
Kazami: H-However, there's only little battery left...
Amuro: And the corpse?
Amuro: Did he get killed by that man?

Kazami: P-Probably...
Kazami: W-Well, It's fine! I can somehow break out of this room with my own strength...
Amuro: Stop it, Kazami...

Amuro: If you act in an imprudent way, it will excite the culprit and the worst outcome will be unavoidable...
Amuro: I will go...

Page 2
Amuro: Before you become a corpse, yourself...

File 1051: An Omnious Ranch

Text: The reliable man takes action when his subordinate is in a pinch...

Page 4
Kobayashi: You have to learn from the person from the ranch who is willing to give us his chickens to raise them...
Kobayashi: Don't forget about that!
DB: Yeeeeees!

Kobayashi: Is it really okay, I wonder?
Rumi: But why did you bring the students with us?
Rumi: If it's to learn how to raise them, both of us can do that...

Kobayashi: Wakasa-sensei...
Kobayashi: This is secret information that I meant to take with me to the grave, but...
Rumi: Yes?

Kobayashi: In fact, I am not good with birds...
Rumi: I-Is that so?

Kobayashi: Since the moment I saw as a child on the TV a footage of vultures gathering around a dead zebra and devouring him greedily...
Kobayashi: Those bulging eyes, and those pointed beaks...
Kobayashi: Have been scaring me so much...

Kobayashi: Therefore, although this is impossible for me, if these children record a video of when they are being looked after, I thought it would be easier to explain...
Rumi: But, Kobayashi-sensei, the policeman that you are dating....
Rumi: If I recall correctly, his name was "Shiratori..."*
TN: lit. "White bird," or "swan."

Page 5
Kobayashi: Huh? That's a name, isn't it?
Kobayashi: Then, if Wakasa-sensei had someone named "Karasuda", would you think he's a crow?
Rumi: I-I wouldn't think so...

Rumi: It's just that... in case he's a crow, then he would be a pitch black, cunning person, hard to approach, who forms factions and makes moves...
Rumi: That's the image I just have...

Rumi: Well, of all people... He might be someone fun and bright for all we know...
Kobayashi: Ah, that might be the case...
Conan: ......

Conan (Internal monologue): Crow...

Conan (Internal monologue): Karasuma Renya...
Conan (Internal monologue): The boss of the organization who shrank my body with that drug...

Conan (Internal monologue): And Wakasa-sensei is...
Conan (Internal monologue): A candidate for this organization's No.2...
Conan (Internal monologue): RUM...

Kobayashi: By the way, the name of the owner of the farm we're about to meet is "Hatoyama"*-san, right !
TN: lit. "mountain dove"
Rumi: If he's a peaceful person like a dove, I'd like it!
Hat guy: Do you folks also go do Hatoyama farms?

Page 9
Amuro: How about calling it a day?

Amuro: Mitsuhiko-kun, you should also erase the private footage that this person dislikes!
Mitsuhiko: Right!
Amuro: It's fine that way, right?
Knit-hat guy: Yeah...

Kobayashi: So you are Amuro-san!
Amuro: Ah, yes...
Kobayashi: I am the homeroom teacher of these children's class, Kobayashi!
Kobayashi: I heard a lot about you!

Kobayashi: Poirot's master said that he's also a detective!
Rumi: I am the assistant homeroom teacher, Wakasa! Pleased to meet you...
Amuro: Greetings...

Conan: But where are you going to in this bus, Amuro-san?
Amuro: Like all of you, I also have some business at Hatoyama farm...

Conan: I see...
Amuro: I'll tell you more in details when we get there...

Rumi: ......

Page 16
Kazami: Furuya-san!
Kazami: So you came to my rescue!
Amuro (Internal monologue): Kazami...

Kazami: Thank goodness! I'm saved, now!
Amuro: I've been caught, too, so the situation hasn't changed at all...
Conan (Internal monologue): If I recall correctly, that person is Amuro-san's subordinate from the Security Bureau...

Mitsuhiko: Errrr...
Kobayashi: Who is "Furuya?"
Amuro: This is my alias!
Amuro: When I work as a detective, it becomes necessary...

Amuro: He is my assistant...
Kazami: I...
Kazami: I'm Hida Danroku!

Conan: Say, aside from that...
Conan: A corpse has been laid on the bed...
Kobayashi: Eeeeh!?

Conan: That corpse's face...
Conan: He looks exactly like the man who imprisoned us here!

Text: A situation making no sense... Next issue, another chapter with a connected cover!

Odds are that Rumi left that there on purpose. If she wanted Shinichi/Conan (or Shiho/Ai and the DBs) to get it, she's had plenty of chances since her first appearance to leave it for him, so she seems to have left it for Rei/Bourbon to find.

right... then the question would be why left it for Bourbon and not anyone else? It's as fishy as Kuroda calling Scotch's brother from a different phone. ;D

This tells me that she may very well have known him (or known of him), before this. Just because they're an intelligent detective who can defend themselves is no reason to just leave such a significant thing for someone you just met—and this is especially given that she's spent so much of her time on Shinichi/Conan and yet still won't even imply anything to him (in terms of what her situation is). Yet here she is, slipping this to an NPA NOC.

If there's one thing I'm sure of, it's that Rumi isn't Rum. Even if she turns out to be non-NOC BO (Vermouth or a subordinate of Rum), this has the potential to be her double-crossing (or setting up) Rum—and I think that outcome is more likely than this being part of a trap Rum is masterminding and she's carrying out for him.

Interesting suggestions. Can't wait to find out or at least see more clues about Wakasa's knowledge on Bourbon (since she seems to at least recognize him based on her serious glare at him as he talked to Conan). Also looking forward to special interactions between Rumi and Haibara.

One thing I am at least betting on is that Bourbon's recall of where he has seen the shogi piece is that it's from BO's private report on the Kohji case (meaning that Rum likely took the piece from Kohji's palm and reported it), since Bourbon recently investigated the ASACA song (File 954) for the BO and therefore likely checked their reports on the Kohji case (to get a good grasp on his mission). I see this moment as potential for Conan finally finding out (through Bourbon) that Kohji was clenching the Kaku/uma piece in his right hand (which could transition to a "kohji case investigation part 2" next case, if we are lucky).
DC's Awesome Qoutes:
Spoiler:

Bourbon:''A child's curiosity and a detective's spirit of inquiry do have much in common''
Image
Vermouth:''A secret makes a woman, woman''
Image Image
Mary/Gin:''It's like encountering a demon in the darkness...''
Image
Akai Shuichi:''Fear of death is worse than death itself''
Image
Shinichi Kudo:''following the smell of blood to arrive upon a crime scene, using every one of your senses to hunt the culprit, then once you've seized hold of him, sinking your sharp teeth(your evidence) until your opponent gives up the ghost, That's a detective''

Spoiler:
Indeed, that wasn't an wrathful glare—that struck me as more of a "I'm very much paying attention to this" stare.

And there's another factor—her, out of everyone, taking a liking to Rumi (who is most certainly not an innocent, unrelated party—and Shiho/Ai is not oblivious to the red flags). It would be quite something if her heart turns out to have accepted Vermouth, of all people... and if Rumi is instead someone else (NOC, non-NOC BO, Asaka, etc.), could there be another connection between them, aside from Shiho/Ai seeming to see her as more of a protector, rather than a threat to her and Shinichi/Conan (such as Rumi being part of the Miyano family or a friend of her father's or Elena's).

Shinichi/Conan is referring to Rumi in his internal monologue as a "Rum candidate/suspect." That tells me he hasn't ruled her out, which means he's yet to uncover Rum's identity (even with the meeting his parents, Shūichi and Rei/Bourbon had, which is presumed to be the big strategy meeting that will form the basis of their plan against Rum in the arc's forthcoming big confrontation case). Question is, will this eventually led to a Vermouth arc situation (where he figured out Vermouth's identity 3 cases before the confrontation case), or a Kir arc situation (where he figured out Kir's identity immediately prior to the confrontation case). Will the improv come when the plan gets scuttled, or will there be an improv-based plan made on the fly, in the heat of/in light of a sudden discovery?
Also...

1,052 spoiler pics have now dropped (be advised, they're pretty blurry, again).
Spoiler:
Rei/Bourbon is showing Yuya the shogi piece, and they seem to be discussing the Kōji case.

well some useful information from this web site here: https://serinoxtv.tumblr.com/
Spoiler:
according to the poor quality spoilers and info quoted from the link above...

"- Rumi appears to notice that her shogi piece is missing, giving her a very shocked expression, and Genta tells her he saw Amuro pick it up"

which seems to imply that Rumi did not intentionally drop the shogi piece but rather was unware that she dropped it and was shocked when she found it was gone... interesting what would happen after her knowing that Amuro actually picked it up.... 8-)

Yes, "seems." I'd rather wait for some non-blurry spoiler pics to show up and get translated, though.

If Rumi was still keeping the piece in her back pocket, her body would have to flip over for it to fall out (or maybe if she crouched, I suppose), but she didn't make such movements around the time Rei/Bourbon picked up the piece (i.e., both before Ayumi disappeared and when her disappearance was first noticed).

The only alternative to this being her piece that I can think of is that another shogi piece was dropped there some time ago by someone else.

Please note the poll I added at the top of the page and let me know where you stand on this. The original spoilers rule was for the sake of people who don't want to be spoiled but still want to participate in the discussion, but if now the only active users left don't even mind spoilers, then threads filled with nothing but spoiler boxes might be more of a hindrance than helpful.

Spoiler:
So here is my two pennies on the case.

Rumi's piece is probably missing else Genta talking about how Amuro had picked it up makes 0 sense. Which I can glean from that low quality stuff. So I would rather bet that Amuro has seen the piece from Police report or from a personal interview of Kohji where Kohji was brandishing that stuff/shogi piece. Amuro knowing it from BO report makes "0" sense also. Cause BO is not a detective firm and Rum screwed up the case if they had the cognizance of that piece they would have burned it instead of keeping as a crime scene relic/memory of Kohji.
So either way Rumi is an investigating officer from some agency CIA/NPA(I lean more towards NPA) or a family member of Kohji bent on revenge or both.
She isn't a BO, I trust that Haibara makes her judgements with her head and knows what BO agents can pull to gain people's trust. Vide :Vermouth arc.
Also if I take into account the Detective's Nocturne then one thing comes to mind, there Haibara was triggered by Amuro while the chase was happening despite Amuro not even noticing her. So we all know that our good superintendent's actions hardly make any sense. He is very likely BO also.

Spoiler:
And remember—Rei/Bourbon had to ask to see the BO's files about something as recent as Shūichi's "death." He would've had to get permission to see the files of a nearly two-decade-old case—and I can't see them giving him permission to see the Kōji case files, of all things. And that's not even getting into the fact that Rum wouldn't want anyone to see them, and would likely make sure as few BO members as possible would see it.

The piece's very existence goes against BO policy—Rum definitely isn't the one responsible for preserving it. Rather, it would be held onto as evidence by a party with intentions that directly go against Rum.

Only those with ties to the BO can get such a reaction from Shiho/Ai. The Burning Tent case leaves us with three options—Rumi has BO ties; Hyōe has BO ties; or they both have BO ties (the problem with this third option, of course, is that two BO-connected people simultaneously exuding the BO scent has never been brought up by Shiho/Ai or Shinichi/Conan, let alone being a major point in the "figure out who's the BO member" mysteries, in spite of two opportunities to do so with the Bus Hijacking case and Detective's Nocturne). As of now, I can only conclude that Hyōe had a role to play in Shiho's/Ai's reaction in that scene.

The only alternative to this being her piece that I can think of is that another shogi piece was dropped there some time ago by someone else.
well there is some text spoiler from the link here (though no higher resolution pics yet): https://pastebin.com/XbPc2Kwc
Spoiler:
according to the spoiler info "As Kazami looks at the shogi piece Amuro's holding, he casually starts gossping about how Haneda Shukichi maintained his Six-Crowns by defending himself in one of the title matches.
However, Amuro remembers during the conversation that it was in the files about the Haneda Kohji case during his training in the Security Police, which was showed to him. He realizes that it was his good luck charm piece, the only personal belonging that went missing.
This piece was something he earned after beating his master in a shogi tournament for the first time and that at the end, this piece is stabbed. From the fact that his family said that something this important which he couldn't let go must be in the hands of the culprit, Amuro starts thinking that the culprit who killed Haneda Kohji is here in this farm." So yeah, seem to suggest the shogi piece may actually be related to Rumi whom Kohji once showed her the goodluck charm in one of her recalls... whether he gave it to her before his death or was taken away from him after his death is yet to be revealed.... ???
