Can't say I liked much about the ending, or that Showtime is considering spin-offs (?).

Which you shouldn't, because the ending does not in anyway hamper the brilliance of seasons 2-4. We've already had fairly terrible seasons in 5, 6, and 7, so the final season being underwhelming wasn't much of a surprise to the people I've spoken with.

If anything, I'd just stop after 4. Watching 5+ after that in spare time isn't entirely fruitless, as some of the plots and individual episodes can be good, but not worth going out of one's way for.

It went along with the rest of the season I guess.
