Re: ESPIONAGE: Campaign Round (All Slots Taken! Edogawa4869 is the GM, Start Date Coming Soon!)
Are spies and civilians allowed to pose as detectives or vice versa? "I'm a detective, don't arrest me."
Can players share their own opinions about others' roles? "I think xy is a spy, because..."
So is there an open discussion?

There is, but a detective will know when people are lying about stuff like that. It's rather risky to use as defense and nonsensical if a townie were to to so :VMDavid wrote:Are spies and civilians allowed to pose as detectives or vice versa? "I'm a detective, don't arrest me."

You could try to announce who you think is suspicious so the detective can blend in with his investigations. Open investigation is usually the best way to go, considering it's the only way of communication.

Okay! I was wondering what happened if a spy posted a fake detective investigation result.Iwamoto Yuri wrote:There is, but a detective will know when people are lying about stuff like that. it's best to try to work together and guess what strategy to use at the start.MDavid wrote:Okay! If so then there is much more to take into account. Strategy, manipulation etc.

Spies are free to lie and pretend to be other roles, including posting fake intel related to their "investigation" results. Of course, this can be tricky, because the real detective wouldn't give themselves away like that since the real spies would just kill them, so it's rare to see that.MDavid wrote:Okay! Re: ESPIONAGE: Campaign Round (Beginning November 15, 2014! Please Vote for the Phase Change Time!)
not really a question but just a clarification maybe about the penalty system when a player does not cast any votes at all at a given phase...
the least number of votes a player might receive at the end of the day is not just plain zero but a negative integer, correct? kinda got confused with the rules because i thought it will always be minus 2 but realized it was a negative 2 in the example provided xD
also, are we supposed to ALWAYS use ALL FIVE VOTES each day? what if a player wants to just give out three votes? will the penalty thing takes place and the player who gave out three votes will have their total received votes subtracted with two?
Last que- clarification...

at the end of the day, everyone will know exactly how many votes a player gave out to other players and to who they gave it to and not just how many votes a player received in total, correct? All votes will be revealed at the end of each phase.

The votes are indeed "negative 5", so to speak. Saying "minus 5" is just to clarify that it's subtracting 5 unused votes to your total, meaning of course that -5 ("Negative Five") is the lowest score one can have.shinichi'sapprentice wrote:not really a question but just a clarification maybe about the penalty system when a player does not cast any votes at all at a given phase...

And yep, everyone is expected to allocate ALL FIVE VOTES each day. If you allocate only 3 votes, those 3 will be cast as you voted to the players you gave them to, while the remaining 2 votes will count as -2 against your own total for that phase.
Everyone will know exactly how many votes each person has received as well as where those votes have come from. Edo has a template in place to report all of the results; there won't be any ambiguity as to where votes have come from.shinichi'sapprentice wrote:at the end of the day, everyone will know exactly how many votes a player gave out to other players and to who they gave it to and not just how many votes a player received in total, correct?

Re: ESPIONAGE: Campaign Round (Prep Phase Begins at 5:00 PM EST November 15, 2014!)
Phase Changes will be at 5:00 PM EST. Click here to see how that time relates to you!
Edogawa4869 is the GM. You should be sending him private messages with all of your votes and actions. Please note that you cannot vote or send actions for Day One until after Prep Phase has completed. Prep Phase is only to receive your role. You may begin strategizing for Day One any time after the game begins, however.

And, one last requisite reminder...
You are NOT allowed to PM any other players or in any way discuss the game with them whilst the game is going on in ANY PLACE OUTSIDE OF THIS TOPIC.

LADIES & GENTLEMEN: THE GAME IS almost ON!
Before we can actually begin, everyone needs their role...
If you have not received your role yet, please enable private message receipt so that I may send it to you.
Everyone else, you should all now have your roles. Plan accordingly and treat everyone around you with suspicion!
