He's not actually supposed to know that was Kid, unless for some reason Vermouth tells him later. As far as the BO knows, Sherry is officially dead.

I guess Sera could dig a little bit in the issue, but I doubt the FBI would tell her anything (regardless of them knowing about her family ties to Akai or not), her best bet would be the hospital staff, though I doubt they'd tell detailed information about a patient to someone outside the police.

My guess is that if anyone could get further in this investigation, is Takagi. He's directly involved (although unknowingly) in the faking of Akai's death, he's a police detective, and is linked to Bourbon through Date Wataru. If I'm allowed to bet, I'd say that whenever he realizes someone (this being Bourbon and/or Sera) is digging into the incident at Raiha Pass, he'll be the next one to make a move. It'd be interesting if Takagi finds out Conan consulted for the freaking FBI.

That's true, I guess I assumed that Vermouth would tell him. But I didn't realise that she can't tell him the truth without compromising herself, she would have to admit that Conan was helping Sherry and that would put him in danger..

But then, Bourbon knows that there is someone (who looks like Akai) who threw in the hand grenade. He knows it's not Vermouth in disguise since he suspects it to be Akai, and since he can always ask Vermouth anyway... If it's not either of them, it must be someone who wants to prevent Sherry from being captured. Under these mysterious circumstances, I don't think he will rest assured that Sherry is dead.

Bourbon and Vermouth each seems to have his/her own personal agenda apart from the Org's aims which makes me wonder if they might share information with each other that they would not tell to the rest of the BO.

The only thing bothered me in this file is Ran, she was very worried about Ai and then when the fire happened she comes to know that Conan, Sera and Ai are missing, then Gosho left it there. for me it is just OOC for her. I do not expect Gosho to make her do something heroic again, it just does not feel right for me.

Well, I guess I am feeling this way, because I was hoping that she would play some sort of role , nothing big

One thing comes to mind: Bourbon might actually think Vermouth did throw the grenade since she desperately wanted Sherry dead, unlike Bourbon. And she'd obviously deny it even if she was involved.

Yes, you're right. I can think only Vermouth tell Bourbon the truth and they will know Akai is real. But the possibility of what you said is high.

I personally feel the status quo is too broken right now and can't go back to normal cases right away. It's just hard to imagine that Okiya, Amoru, Sera and Haibara will all act totally normally in the next file.

Who knows? Maybe there will be a cooldown "denouement" period while Amuro and Sera begin poking around Akai's death's case. I seriously expect the FBI Japanese cell to become involved in the Bourbon arc now.

...Hold on. You know who else can become entangled in this? DETECTIVE TAKAGI. He's at 2 degrees of separation from Bourbon (through Date), and he unknowingly became an accomplice in hiding Akai's death. I'm really expecting Detective Takagi to become a strong key player in this arc.

(Which would mean an originally anime-exclusive character would be getting a promotion to canon main. That'd be awesome.)
