I must admit I'm kinda relieved at the result.

Concerning the recent talk about separation of Scotland, Crimea etc I sometimes think it would have been better if the whole territory of the planet was only 1 single state, at least then there would be no problems with extradition of mafia bosses.

Scottish Independence. If there was a time for separation I don't think it would be now, let's put it that way. And that is all I'm going to say on the subject.Aquahorse wrote:Stopwatch, what resilt? Mario, yeah, to control better maybe and erase them partially at least.

Aye. Watched the first episode. So far it looks decent. I'll give it 2 more episodes before deciding whether or not to watch all of it.Mario2000 wrote:So has anyone watched Future Boy Conan? I would be interested to discuss. Kor, you said you were going to?
Conan reminds me a bit of Goku's ignorance about the world. Soundtrack is good.
So far the settings feel a bit generic, though. I feel like sci fi writers didn't give humanity that much of a chance back then at the second half of the 20th century. Can't blame them of course, especially after world war II, but it produced a lot of post apocalyptic based stories.
The only thing that really took me out of the episode was the beginning with the fight with the shark. While it effectively shows Conan is brave (maybe even too brave), Conan held his breath under water for way too long. Or was it suppose to foreshadow something that wasn't explained yet?
Also I found out about this reference:

Re: What's on your mind?
The physical abilities and strength of the character are way too big even for the strongest adult, as you will see later (this was the only thing that really annoyed me about this anime). To knock him out, a "bad guy" character once had to jump on him from the height of a big ship while Conan was positioned on the shipyard, and to use the speed of the fall to make the damage made with fists on the head stronger.Kor wrote: The only thing that really took me out of the episode was the beginning with the fight with the shark. By the way, I would be grateful if anyone finds the existing interview with the anime creators about the projected sequel (the project was later dismissed). I was told it was about the next generation of the characters or something, but the person that told me doesn't remember the link.

Re: What's on your mind?
The last poll before the election showed about 52% for Yes and 48% for No. It was looking extremely close. My guess is that either the polling sample was largely in places like Glasgow and Dundee, which had large proportions of Yes voters, or a lot of people simply bottled at the last minute. Which makes me sad. Votes should not be decided by fear. (A part of the No campaign was literally called "Project Fear" and it was all about playing up fear of the unknown against the Yes vote.)
David Cameron will not deliver. He's a Tory. They never do, certainly not for Scotland. I'm really quite sad that Alex Salmond's stepping down, though. He's done a lot for Scotland and it'll be a shame to lose him now.

When does Crunchyroll usually announce whether or not they pick up a new anime for streaming?

Re: What's on your mind?
I think it depends on when they get rights or whatever it is :xKor wrote:When does Crunchyroll usually announce whether or not they pick up a new anime for streaming?
Umm iirc last season it was at least a week in advance, with the exception of one series which they announced 2 days after.
Edit: Ok, it might be at least an hour in advance :V

Jecka, have you also watched Future Boy Conan? One of your avatars looks like Jimsy from this series (the short guy with a sort of "haystack" of red hair and a loincloth).

I have, but that's not Jimsy. It's been a while since I watched it, so my memory of the series is a little fuzzy ^_^;
