Re: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
I finally decided to start watching this series. I'm royally confused with the different ordering of the episodes. I decided to watch it by broadcast order and be totally left clueless.

Re: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
I think the broadcast order is a lot more fulfilling due to the last episode of that order being epic, but the problem I had with watching that order was that the series felt done to me once I'd past the episode which is the conclusion in the chronological order, so I was a bit bored after that with the exception of Live Alive and the last episode.
The problem I found with chronological order though was that it gave me six great episodes then the rest was all only okay, again, with the exception of Live Alive.
Personally, I agree with you on going with broadcast order, because that way you'll get the good stuff throughout instead of mainly just at the beginning, but I think either order is fine and gives sort of its own experience.

I suppose it is better to watch it in the broadcast order as the quality of the episodes are spread out as some of the ones towards the end were a little weak.

Re: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
There are only two issues with the broadcast order, in my opinion.
1) The baseball episode comes way too early. That's one of the last episodes of the season chronologically, and it acts like you know wtf is going on. It's VERY confusing in broadcast order.
2) They split up the Closed Island 2-parter with a random episode in between them. Not a huge issue, but slightly annoying.

Re: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
the 2 parter was clearly for lulz only
@ Ranger, on behalf of the fandom, I apologize for the first episode. It is...yeah. :p
So glad you're watching it though. You are in for a treat.

Yeah, it's in order. Technically the first episode of the second season is like... episode 7 or 8 or something in overall chronological order, but after that it's mostly all after what happened in season 1.ranger wrote: So, how does one watch the second season? Are they in order..or what?
...enjoy Endless Eight. Don't skip it. Don't forget to watch the amazing movie after season 2.

Re: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Did you watch all of it? I watched the first two and skipped to the last one as I didn't think I could take it. My favourite character is Yuki Nagato. I feel sorry for her having to go through all those loops.
