Summary of a phone call I got at 7am this morning:

[property management company to which I pay my rent]: So a joiner's coming to your flat today to fix the windows.

Me: What? Why? What's wrong with the windows? Aren't the windows the only thing in this flat that AREN'T broken? When are we getting that new carpet?

[property douches]: Dunno. A joiner's coming today.

Me: Well, what time?

[property douches]: Probably between 1 and 2. Bye!

Me: So why call me at--YOU'VE HUNG UP ALREADY YOU BAS--

So I'm sitting around all day because when they say "between 1 and 2" they mean "any time between 1 and three days from now"

^Stuff like that just keeps on happening. Why do people keep on thinking I'm much younger than I am? Is it how I act? My appearance? I mean, I know I don't wear make-up like over half my year, but still this is getting kinda frustrating by now .

Happens to me often too.

Like today, I bought some Punschkrapfen that has alcohol in it. And the sales girl told me with a stern look: "those have alcohol in it".... as if I'm too young to eat them...

Argentinians don't seem to age. I can't tell you how many times I've carded someone for whisky and been like "You're THIRTY-NINE?!"

Well, some people age well. If you don't look at my dad closely enough to see the gray hairs, you'd think he was in his upper 20's/early 30's, not 47.

Only once recently did someone estimate my age to be 4 years younger than I really was. Otherwise, people tend to pen me somewhere between 2-11 years older than I actually am. ^^;

I got bit by a tick yesterday (Sunday) and I might have Lyme disease! Yay! \o/

Went to the doctor and got antibiotics so I should be fine, but still have to take the damn things for the next 3 weeks.  Happy birthday to me >_>

Getting Lyme disease wouldn't be something you should say "Yay! \o/" about. "Yay. ", perhaps, since that would express how bothersome it is with its sarcasm, but not "Yay! \o/", which expresses joy and happiness.

...I need to go to sleep already.

it was probably sarcasm, I'm pretty sure they know Lyme disease isn't a "Yay" thing.

but anyway, although you definitely should continue the meds, I would say you shouldn't worry too much about Lyme disease. If you found the tick soon after it bit you, the chance of infection is pretty low, and the overall rate of people actually getting Lyme disease from tick bites is (iirc) around 1%, so chances are you don't have it.

My parents are sorta like that. Looking at them, you'd guess they're in their early 40's, I think (maybe younger, depending on a couple things), although my dad has a nice dusting of white at his temples and through his beard (I think that was why he shaved his beard off, so he'd look younger). Mom dyes her hair, and when her roots grow out it looks like one of my brothers attacked her part with silver spray-paint. They're both in their late 50's.
