That only works until a certain strength. Strong players memorize the whole board and can replay the entire game from the starting position. They wouldn't end up confused, but clearly know someone relocated the pieces, most likely the opponent.

Lol it was a joke why take it so seriously. Also, in some situations a person who was knocked unconscious by a drug or alcohol experiences small amount of memory loss. If he can only recall the game up to turn two, but now the game is at turn 48 wouldn't he be confused??

Clues without Deduction are meaningless. Deductions without Clues are invalid.
