According to Jd- (post#1 post#2), the first real remastered case was 166-168. Those episodes before that one were apparently just re-airs.

Dunno why xpon listed them as remasters...

Hm, that's strange. I always thought the term "remastered" referred to video/audio material that received a "quality enhancement of sound and/or picture to a previously existing recording". - Wikipedia

They were referred to as remasters when they aired and they did receive enhancements. I never said that they didn't. Notice the quotes:

Not only was a high quality raw of the "remaster" not available, that "remaster" was more of a "reairing". The old remasters aren't like the ones they air now.

The implication of that post is clearly that the "remaster" was not sufficiently remastered in the terms we consider a "remaster" today. That never implied there were no improvements because the color was at least mildly adjusted in all of the remastered airings. However, that does not mean they are invaluable, because they aren't. The original remasters were more filtered corrections of the original broadcast packages--they didn't put in all of the expert work and go back to the source material like they do now. As I also noted in that original topic, people were not really recording high quality raws of all the episodes then, and especially didn't with reaired/remastered episodes for the most part. If you take that into account along with the fact that the old "remasters" really just weren't good, there's no reason to worry about them so much.
