They seem to have been friendly rivals. They likely met through Yukiko, if they ever met in civilian life. I'd imagine that, at the very least, Yuusaku had a good idea of who Kid was and who he is now.

If not brothers then cousins...
that would explain why he hasn't told anyone...he didn't want anyone else to catch him...
