Kaitou Kid Anime Series or Not?

Discussion relevant to everyone's favorite "Phantom Thief" happens here.

Do you think Kaitou Kid should have his own anime series?

No, because I hate the character and/or it wouldn't be interesting.

No; Kaitou Kid works best as a supporting character.

Wow, looks like I'm the only that chose "Other" :o Well, I think he does deserve his own series, because there's a story involving the Black Organization, but I think it would be better to end his story within the Conan series (explaining the parts from his manga, obviously). That would be great, maybe a 4hs Final Epidose where everything involving the BO gets solved (and the promise of a future showdown between Shinichi and Kaitou ::)) I think that would be great.

Over here~.

Also, I would love a Kaito Kid mini-series myself, but I kinda doubt it would ever happen. I just think it would be fun to have some of the stuff in the manga series animated. Er, I mean, more stuff. I just love how goofy Kuroba Kaito is when he gets the chance ^^.

I think that a Kaitou Kid series could last, say, 50 episodes, maybe even 100.
You guys seriously underestimate Gosho, the guy never ceases to amaze!  :o

Don't forget that, one of the reasons DC is still so popular, is the introduction of new characters.
Where would the show be now if it was still only Conan, Ran, Mouri and Professor Agasa?

The show is doing well now, but it's also thanks to the inclusion of Hattori, the detective boys, Haibara,
Megure, Takagi (who was just a background character at the start), Sato, the FBI, the BO, and of course, Kaitou Kid!

If there was a Kaito Kid series (and Gosho says he will make one once DC is finally finished), I'd fully expect to see
the introduction of exciting new characters and plots.

And I'd also expect to see a lot of detective vs. Kid showdowns, but probably with Hakuba, not Conan.  :P

Kaito kid HAD his own manga already. it was made before Detective Conan. 'Magic Kaito'. you can find all 28 chapters at http://onemanga.com . It's a great series, and a few of the Detective Conan episodes with Kaito in it are in the series! It's so nostalgic! ^-^

It's a really old series, and not too popular as you may have guessed. That would be why the scans are not that great... xD;

Kaito Kid should totally have an anime series! Magic Kaito has its own plot which probably involves the BO. Kaito does not just steal stuff; he looks for Pandora by stealing big jewels. (Or else, why would he return the jewels) It would be interesting if they pulled Kid into Detective Conan more, but at this point a lot has happened in the Magic Kaito series. Its the same universe, so Gosho can't mess up the time lines by pulling them together. Once Gosho does more chapters on Magic Kaito, I'm sure it will become a series.

I don't think a full series would be good thing, because Gosho's busy with Detective Conan, but a direct-to-DVD thing is a good idea - probably what's going to happen when Detective Conan's finished. Or not. Either it'll be a direct to DVD or an anime series, but after Detective Conan's done and Magic Kaito has a bit more volumes.
