it didn't say that the dogs can't be left alone on the other side without their master since there are other dogs on that side  ;D
just guessing  :P
doesn't work. A dog can NEVER be without it owner and together with other humans, even if the other humans have their dogs with them.
In other words. b can't be together with C and c unless Bis there

Sayumi, you're right. You've probably worked this out already, but it is possible even when you make sure that there is never a temporary violation of dog behavioural conditions. That is, if we allow "docking" (but no "illegal transfers"), and denoting docking with *, the following should work, and in fact there are two possibilities for the last 'clean up' phase.

waaaahhh I think i finally got it!!!
(I just posted and then deleted it again... But i think it should be okay now)
This is a version with never having @ alone in the boat while humans (like B, C, D or E; not A) are on the shore the boat is on. And also never having humans in a boat while other dogs (without owners) are on the shore. In other words- assuming that the answer to my last question is no.

The main part of the trick is to get all of the people to the other side first.
Okay I really hope that this is right....

@ ayw: your answer is really good! But you could make the last step of @-work version easier by putting @, d and e in the boat at the same time ;-)

Hehe, I don't really mind either...
I'm going to get some rest now, Sayumi-tantei. But before I do I will post a little case featuring Conan-kun...

Impressive my dear detectives, your reasoning and deduction are both correct. *claps hands*

Why don't you work together in a Privet Detective Agency? :P

Now, I think I have to find a more difficult problem.

Just wait. Oh, and ayw, nice Case Number III, I think I don't have more "cases". I'll have to find more.
