risking what? if the BO is destroyed,i don't know from what she would be scared?it's only because of the BO that she had this horrible life!if there isn't BO anymore,i she won't lose anything...
if she grows up,she can still have contact with DB and living with agasa,having the same life whithout pretending  being a child....

She is still risking to lose her current life.
What if Agasa or the DB won't accept her anymore when she is grown up and they learn she was a member of a criminal organisation? What if their parents forbid them talking with her. What if she can't find a new possition in live when grown up? (Imagine how her Curriculum would look like...

Age 17-22: Head of Criminal Toxin Research Laboratory
Age 23: Left former emplyer, due to... mutual disagreements

Age 25: Trying to find a job at a normal company

As a child she is save, she has to go to school and has all the time she needs to find her possition in live in a normal way.

and what if she doesn't tell anything about her past to the DB(as i don't think conan would tell anything about BO/shrinking stuff to Ran)? what if Agasa doesn't mind is she grows up(she still the seme person afterall)?,since he knows the truth,i don't think he would leave her alone...and for the DB,she looks like a big sister for them,giving them advices necessary in their life(not relying on  people....)so if she grows up,she would have the same role...

if she want to stay as a child because she's affraid of losing this life,then all the things she had learn in her "haibara life" would be a waste...(to face her destiny...)
as for a job,i'm sure she'll find something...she's a genius so...  and she even could work with FBI,since i think they will know the truth about her(especilly akai)...she's also victime of the BO(like jodie)so i don't think they would leave her alone...
but all theses things are just theories,we don't know what 's going to happen ^^
btw,the curriculum is pure win

I still think the most satisfying ending for everyone would be if Ran shrank as well and Haibara couldn't make a perfect antidote. it makes an open ending for the love tringle and solved another problem for Ran - Eri will have to move in back with Kogoro. Ran is the one who does all the cooking, shopping and taking care of her father. If Ran has the body of a child, she won't be able to do it properly and Eri will need to move back in. Then slowly Kogoro and Eri can fix their relationship.
But then I wouldn't want Detective Conan to end. Just to end the B.O. plot, because there will still be Conan and it opens up many other plot options. AND OF COURSE, I would like to see how Ran and Haibara treat each other and the way they treat Conan.

No, I don't hate Ran. I like Genta so I didn't intend to torture Ran with that pairing.

Do you think the way Agasa is taking care of Haibara is pretty good? Agasa just decided to take care of Haibara without any explaination.
Because it's totally possible to take care of a child who is not a part of your family in Japan.
I've heard some friends who told me their neighbours adopted the daughter of a colleague after her parents death. Formalities seems to be simple.
So I think that can explain how Haibara could start living so easily with Agasa and Conan with Ran and Kogoro.
Actually I don't think Ran is just taking the money for taking care of Conan  but well, I should change the topic to talk about that, so ...

I said that, in my opinion, it's obvious that Aoyama introduced Haibara because he wanted to add something new to the story: a love triangle. And no, I'm not saying that Haibara's role is just being the third angle of a triangle; of course she has one of the most important roles in the main plot. However, Aoyama could have used Gin or another existing or non-existing male or even female character to do that. But, he introduced Haibara, a young female scientist who will become Conan's ally and then friend. He even created a lot of oh-so-cute moments for those two; which he didn't do for Vermouth or Akemi or Rena, etc. That's why I believe he did intend to give her that role too.

For me, friendship can be eternal when it's real; and by "real" I mean honest, pure, resisting, and so on. Friendship is, for me, better than love; because when you're close friends with someone, it means that, not only you love them, but you also have a lot of affinities and you can understand each other and spend the best moments together. While in a love relashionship, many things may lack at times.. For me, love is not enough. It's like: Love = Love, but: Friendship = Love + a lot of things. But then again, it's how I view things.
