Re: Kogorous Riddle Thread and eworms Deduction Thread

Post by eworm »

Okay guys, Giogio here asked me some questions about the Brain-Frying Riddle #4. I stated before, that if I felt like answering questions, everybody would get the answers. And I just felt like answering, so here you go:

Q: How far does Yoshimizu Outa live away from the fishing spot? I mean, do we have to take into account that he might be the victim, or does he live too far to go there, murder him, and return for an alibi?
A: The murder is going to take place during the trip. Tomoya will not leave the rest of the club members. It would be too far and besides, he's the one in charge.

Q: Do they always figure out the fishing spots? I mean, if they know the lake, it seems unusual, but i know nothing about fishing...
A: And I know even less. Let's just say the spots change with each trip of theirs - these crazy fish they! - so they have to make a new analysis each time.

I don't understand what you mean by 'natural numbers'.  Can you give an example?

Okay ladies and gentlemen:
Williams and Borner - Aunt Merries Vacation will take a while because it's way to long and even inside my head it's still boiling over.
I think I can get it done when BRF #4 is over but I can't promise anything because I have a tight schedule but I don't want to let Williams and Borner die!
Never ever! They will come back for sure.

Okay, so what about Eva's death? Any ideas, anybody?

Eva Death ( not put in spoilers because I sure this is not the answer )

Eva is Scuba Diving. Something ( not sure what ) comes along and cuts her air hose. As she is too far down to reach the top she either get the Bends and dies; or Tries to avoid the bends by coming up too slowly and does not have enough air and so drowns

Okay, about the Eva riddle. Here's what we know so far:
Eva was swimming in a lake. She heard a sound created by some kind of machine and drowned soon after by accident. In order to figure out the reason behind her death we need to guess her occupation and the occupation of the other person (just one) involved. Also, the machine was not something that would normally cause harm to people.

Okay, Giogio, some more questions:
Spoiler:
1. Does a fishing rod count as a "machine"?
2. Was Eva's death quick?
3. Is Eva a doctor?
4. Is the other person a doctor?
5. Is Eva a rescue swimmer?
6. Is the other person a rescue swimmer?
7. Did the machine malfunction?
8. Was the machine used as it should have been?
9. Did the other person use the machine?
10. Was Eva trying to use the machine?
11. Did Eva recognise the sound?
12. Are you thinking about my Brain-Frying Riddle #4?

Spoiler:
1. Does a fishing rod count as a "machine"? Nope - there was also the answer that the machine is not bigger than an orange!
2. Was Eva's death quick? No
3. Is Eva a doctor? No - Well, i just understood that "occupation" in the previous questions had another meaning than I thought - i meant more the thing they are doing at the very moment, not their job... Sorry about that!
4. Is the other person a doctor? No
5. Is Eva a rescue swimmer? No
6. Is the other person a rescue swimmer? No
7. Did the machine malfunction? No
8. Was the machine used as it should have been? Yes
9. Did the other person use the machine? Yes
10. Was Eva trying to use the machine? No
11. Did Eva recognise the sound? Yes (-: That one will be important later.
12. Are you thinking about my Brain-Frying Riddle #4? Yes. But, also, about why K^p^-n is an algebraic closure. I guess my brain is going to explode soon.
Another point that seems to lead to misunderstandings is: that she drowns because she can't reach the surface to take a breath does not mean that she is too far away from it.

Brain-Frying Birthday Event!
That's right, guys. Today's my 19th birthday and since I'm in such a good mood, I think I may do you a favor. It's about the Brain-Frying Riddle #4 of course. The event is simple - whoever PMs me with a "Happy Birthday" (you have 24h staring now) shall receive a little hint. Each person will be granted a different one - but when talking about a Brain-Frying Riddle any hint is priceless, right?

Oh, and happy Children's Day! :)
