Though the break in the first week of July is no surprise, I’m somewhat irritated that they’ve inserted yet another anime original between Soul Detective Murder Case and Stage Of Betrayal. Two anime originals after Stage Of Betrayal would have been preferable.

Given that the last two Saturdays of August have already been booked by remasters of manga adaptations since 2014, I wouldn’t exclude that we’re not going to see three-part Curse Of The Nue before September. Assuming that Crimson Love Letter will be released on home video in October, they could have Momiji debut in the anime series just a few days prior on September 30. The four remaining slots on August 5 and August 12 as well as on September 2 and September 9 could easily be filled with one two-parter and two one-parters or—as they did in last November—with superb one-parters only. (I think that two two-parters would be the best, but also the most unlikely solution.)

While this certainly sounds like a terrible prospect, I would rather have a bit more anime originals than usual on a regular basis than the mother of all anime original hells sometime next year because they didn’t start in time to compensate for the endless manga breaks that we’re currently experiencing.

I have a feeling this is not a priority for anyone. They ****ed that up in 1996, no one cares. :p
