Throughout the majority of the series when the police arrive at crime scenes they usually show up at the beginning of the investigative chapter of the case and their first panel is usually them examining the body or questioning the people who found the body about the conditions that lead to finding it ect. but usually they aren't showing flashing their police badges because that is done "off camera" between the chapter where the body is found and the next chapter. However since the Rum arc has started there has been a sharp increase of Gosho drawing the full police badges, with the officer's picture. I'm starting to wonder if there is an actual reason for this, or if he just likes doing so, probably the latter, but worth mentioning anyway
Previously when they were actually drawn, they were usually distance shots with almost no picture included
but now the more recent ones have visible photos and show names.
Shogi tournament case - Naeko's badge
Ramen case 2 - Sato and Takagi's badges
Nue case - Yokomizo Sango's badge
Rumi case - Shiratori's badge

I hope that I can find someway to contribute to the community even if it's just random crack theories and looking things up for people who can't find the information they need.
Interesting observation. Do you have any theories on why this is the case? Also, Yamato had his picture clearly drawn out on his badge in his intro, but it was in the beginning of Bourbon Arc and not Rum Arc. Speaking of Yamato, I noticed that his intro text box didn't specify his rank (manga and anime), and both Conan and Heiji called him keiji in Fuurinkazan (anime, I don't have the Japanese manga) but called him keibu in later cases. So did he get promoted in series or Conan and Heiji didn't know his rank at first?

In the manga of Furikazan I don't think his rank was ever specified. In the panel you posted he literally just tells them that he is a cop from Nagano. All three of his character intro text boxes in that case (yes, 3) just say that he is a Nagano officer. However in his second appearance, the "dangerous couple" case he gets another text box along with Yui that do specify that he is "keibu" and she is "keiji". Literally the next chapter at the beginning of the Red Wall case while they are driving to Nagano, Yamato tells Yui to stop calling him "Kan-chan" due to him being a higher rank and then she corrects herself and calls him "Yamato Kansue keibu". Conan was in the car at the time so he probably heard then.

Furinkazan (613–618), in the manga, is a case from the Kir arc (499–621).
In anime terms, you'd be correct (Furinkazan: Episode 516–Episode 517; Bourbon arc: Episode 509–Episode 783).

Another detailed observation, on your part. Even if it's just a new thing that Gosho prefers to do, now, it's still a good find, I'd say.
“Life is infinitely stranger than anything which the mind of man could invent. We would not dare to conceive the things which are really mere commonplaces of existence. If we could fly out of that window hand in hand, hover over this great city, gently remove the roofs, and and peep in at the queer things which are going on, the strange coincidences, the plannings, the cross-purposes, the wonderful chains of events, working through generations, and leading to the most outre results, it would make all fiction with its conventionalities and foreseen conclusions most stale and unprofitable.”
“Education never ends... it is a series of lessons, with the greatest for the last.”
