so through the Conan App that was revealed as one of the surprise reveals from the magazine a while back, they have created a way for one of the manga staff, and one of the anime staff to communicate with fans. Around March first they posted something about Sunday Issue 17, which would be the conclusion chapter for this case :

Seems like we will have good chapters coming. Since the very beginning I thought that this so-called Detective Soul would be found dead by Kogoro and Conan lol. But I wasn't expecting Sera and Mysterious Girl appearance... Finally some other moments between Kogoro and Conan though TT_TT!

I've been so hyped because of RUM / Black Org. situation but I am afraid that we won't get too much... yet. We are already in the 950s chapters so I think that Gosho might wanna do something special and just introduce us RUM like in the 1000st chapter. lol

I am not getting it but does it make a difference if mary was the one who called her that day??! I mean it's not a secret for readers that they may call each other and this won't make talking to her middle brother a lie too she maybe in touch with both on phone I thought whoever she is talking too in that case doesn't even matter it was just as a confusion for us about bourbon actually I was more interested in the one who called akai and till now

Well, she's actually physically appeared (not in photos (875; 879; 930; 939), or in the background (930; 941; 942), as Shinichi/Conan refers to or thinks of her) in only 8 Files (876–878; 899; 901–902; 903; 905). 876 just showed her hand; 877 had Shinichi/Conan see her for a few seconds; 878 had her appear for the last page; 899, 901 and 902 were only there to point towards her appearance in the subsequent case and hint that Shukichi was her son, and she only appeared in one page in each of those three files; 905 had her appear, again for the last page. 903 was the only case where she got more than a page. Even 951 had her appear only on the last page (and on the last panel, no less). We haven't exactly seen much of her, even though it's been 78 files since she first physically appeared. 952 appears to have the most we've ever seen of Mary. It's no wonder we're getting more.

But I, too, was surprised to see her with that face (where's her son, telling her to not make that face? )

It doesn't make too much of a difference whether it's Shukichi (mid bro) or Mary. It's just one of those questions that's never been resolved.

Most likely, James called Shuichi/Subaru in File 800/Episode 674. In Dimensional Sniper (Movie 18), Shuichi/Subaru uses the same earpiece he uses in Detectives' Nocturne to call James.

if we didn't get an answer about whom called whom that day then most likely it's really james and it didn't matter then the important thing was whom vermouth called ....
About mary's expression it surperised me a bit too at first but this proves that she is not that cold confident character just like haibara .. first time haibara was introduced she gave such an aurora too but not far we knew she isn't like she seems at all I think Mary's personality still keeps a lot for us to discover
the most important thing I am looking forward too is her interaction with shuu I really can't wait to see akai in front of his shrunken strong mother
