Oh, I just saw the update regarding the gender. But....

... doesn't Vermouth call him "ano otoko" (あの男) when referring to Scotch in the RAW? It's this part: "That Hondou guy, Akai and that other guy already makes 3". Unless that is supposed so be some form of gender-neutral way to address someone? (LOL I think I'll never learn Japanese XD)

I think Rum is just one of the Boss' trusted right-hand men, there will be some more introduced in future, like Three Musketeers, Elite Four.

"Elite Four" translates a Japanese term, shiten'nō, that comes up in a lot of series (Pokémon, Sailor Moon, there's a variation in Sakura Wars). It's not impossible for a team of 4 to come into play. Besides, 四（し）＝死（し）…。

I think [Scotch] is Wataru Date because of these reasons..
1-Bourbon seems to feel sad when he said the CodeName in file898.
2-Bourbon answerd the QUE quick when vermouth saying about the 3rd members

Guys I'm having a thought about the CIA, would they get even more involved with Kir's life being endangered?

Also some wandering thoughts about the unresolved plots:
1- Bourbon's true allegiance? His connection to the MI6 or PSA?
2- Itakura's requested development of a program by the BO?
3- Vermouth's deaging issues?
4- Scotch, a spy that was sent in by PSA apparently to the BO and was caught & killed?
5- The "Silver Bullet" drug that was made my Elena & her husband and Shiho developed as stated by Pisco to Aptx?
6- Rum?
7- Sera & Akai's connection to the apparent deaged child that only appeared so far in only one file? Could be she their mother?
8- Is it possible that the deaged kid is Yukiko's sister, which makes Akai & Conan cousins?
9- The boss'es intention of creating the Organization?

So many questions that needs a certain answer.. do you think these mysteries will be revealed by file 900 or the upcoming large arc?

Kir is a NOC. Non-Official Cover agents don't have the same protections as other agents in the field. If shit hits the fan, they're on their own.

people keep thinking that scotch or HIM that Akai was talking about to be date but don't you remember when amuro saw the DB boys outside the police headquarters he said he came to be questioned about his actions about crashing his car into the perps car but also came for another purpose but not to take that to the heart because the purpose is now gone I.e date is dead and he found that out when coming to PH. Also the guy who killed him was arrested.

There is a whole bunch of "omissis" from Gosho, so we can't really judge.

- We know that Akai understood Bourbon=Rei and shared the info with Conan, but we didn't receive confirmation;
- we don't know what really Conan told Amuro at the end of file 897 and what Amuro shared back;
- we don't know if Conan confronted his mother about her knowledge on Ai, nor what intel he received, if any;
- we don't know if Akai told Conan about Sera and her second brother and that mysterious young girl.

We just know:

- Kir is alive and shared intel, again;
- Amuro didn't share with Vermouth that Akai is alive, and instead told her he failed to get confirmation, so Kir is safe for now;
- we can believe that Scotch death is the reason why Amuro hates Akai;
- we can think that something during this arc raised suspicions in the Boss, so he decided to verify if there are flaws in his Organization

I also don't see how Scotch could be Date as there are problem with the time-line and the message from Date to Rei asking him where is he and what he's up to. He wouldn't send this message, if he was Scotch. However, what was the purpose for making Date, Rei's friend and Rei even visited his grave and he kept his message, for a year.

@Shadow: Considering that the boss took the problem with spies infiltrating, very serious, there may be a chance that either Kir or Rei might be found out. I hope Rei won't die.
