If you want a good Lupin special to watch, check out 2004's "Stolen Lupin". I consider it to be the best introduction to Lupin that doesn't require any sort of fore knowledge as to what's going on. The best special is 2002's "Episode 0: First Contact" as far as I'm concerned, but 2004's is a great watch for anyone.

CONFIRMED: The teaser at the end of Movie 17 in theaters is one for "Lupin the Third vs. Detective Conan: The Movie". No mention is made of Movie 18, which we can likely expect will be teased at the end of Lupin vs. Conan in December.

HYPE SO MUCH HYPE actually the earlier which was sort of a let down (it was still OK to me...) just gets me hyped up more for this, PLEASE I hope people complained about it and asked for more, I love Lupin and Conan and this is like... the air I breath and the water I drink, I NEED IT

The regular episodes are definitely worth a watch. But they're super old. The Red Jacket (second) series ran from 1977-1980, and is the series that current specials are mostly based on. There's also the original series (green jacket), which ran from 1971-72 and is 23 episodes, and the pink jacket (third) series from 1984-85. The pink jacket episodes are really weird, and we've subtitled a few under Kaizou.

There's a new Lupin series based around Fujiko (and green jacket Lupin), and it's really good (fantastic stories, fantastic animation, overall a really great anime) and definitely more adult oriented (lots of nudity, for instance). All 13 episodes are available on Funimation's site for streaming with subtitles.

It's apparently going to be a legit movie (in theaters), so we will have to wait for it to come out on bluray/dvd to be able to see it outside of Japan.

My guess, and keep in mind this is just a guess, is that Lupin vs. Conan will come out on Blu-ray and DVD sometime around April of next year, to coincide with Movie 18's theatrical release. Otherwise, it'll be confusing for them to have to manage overlapping movie promotions for no reason when Lupin vs. Conan will already likely be long out of theaters. I could be wrong, but I think that's what they'll do this time around.

The first movie was okay, I guess, but somehow I cannot really imagine a second one. It sounds a bit weird. But it'll be cool I guess.
