It existed but it wasn't as developed as now. Also, I didn't have to research much at school.

Well, while some of my teachers have said things against using Wikipedia entirely, others have only told us that it is not a valid source. But those teachers then say that the references it uses can be valid research sites.
I went with option three, because even with those who were completely against it, I still use Wikipedia. But for cited sources, I generally use the other sites off of it.

yeah, definitely. When they say not to, the trick is to then just source whatever you're taking from Wikipedia sourced

This. It's actually a valuable skill to learn, too. Being able to cross-reference and cross-check a reference to ensure it's valid.Akonyl wrote: yeah, definitely. When they say not to, the trick is to then just source whatever you're taking from Wikipedia sourced![]()

No, I have better sources. But Wikipedia does have its uses. See GinRei's post above.

I might wake up early and go running. I also might wake up and win the lottery. The odds are about the same.

Option 3. I check wikipedia first on most topics.
It's a great starting point. (Still waiting for the day I, for once, come back to the wikipedia article to check it after I'm done researching.)

Well, I use wikipedia quite often. But NEVER as a source in some kind of work. But as stated earlier it's a good place to find "real" sources..

Sometimes. Mainly I like looking up the resources at the bottom of the article and using them.

No, I know better sources.

“If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it. If you don't ask, the answer is always no. If you don't step forward, you're always in the same place.” - Nora Roberts
"Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things." - Robert Brault
"Time is an equal opportunity employer. Each human being has exactly the same number of hours and minutes every day. Rich people can't buy more hours. Scientists can't invent new minutes. And you can't save time to spend it on another day. Even so, time is amazingly fair and forgiving. No matter how much time you've wasted in the past, you still have an entire tomorrow." - Denis Waitley
