I let it go freely in my house, because I'm too lazy to do any of the other things.

My dad, not me, puts a trap and hopes it gets caught.

Yeah, mine do too.
Except... She doesn't eat them, just letting them lie on the floor like little trophies for me to pick up and throw out later/when discovered... ::)

Well, our cats haven't brought in living mice for years but when they did we usually tried to catch it with a shoebox (It takes some time but it works - We have too much space for traps to be efficient)
If they somehow escaped and we couldn't find them they used to get rather cheeky. We only laid out a trap (non-deadly) only once and it failed to work spectacularly  ;D

No, no, no. A mouse is this rodent that, despite being a pest, is a cute little critter no bigger than your hand. A rat, on the other hand, is this big creepy monster as long as your arm that is absolutely ugly, and you must run on sight of one because it's big and it will bite and possibly even kill you like it killed that level 0 NPC. ;)

some of my friends have pet rats. They're actually pretty nice when they're not all gross and dirty.

Never had mice. Spiders I tend to keep, because they eat midges. I either catch them and then put them in the top corner of my window, whichever corner doesn't already have a web, or release it out in the back garden.

Option one *against all kinds of animal abuse/deaths except when it comes to all kind of mosquitoes, flies and snails*

it's happened before, several times, the first two times we just left it to die, but the third time we decided it would be more humane to kill it immediately, so we did that.

"The energies of our system will decay; the glory of the sun will be dimmed, and the earth, tideless and inert, will no longer tolerate the race which has for a moment disturbed its solitude. Man will go down into the pit, and all his thoughts will perish. The uneasy consciousness, which in this obscure corner has for a brief space broken the contented silence of the universe, will be at rest. Matter will know itself no longer. 'Imperishable monuments' and 'immortal deeds,' death itself, and love stronger than death, will be as though they had never been."

Why does everyone hate spiders? They're not dangerous- at least, there aren't any dangerous ones where I live. They're little and timid and tend to run away from anyone bigger than them. And they eat midges, who would eat me :D

Go find a website about spiders in Texas.

And then ask me why I hate them.
