actually, no, i wanted to start with the opening "ruy lopez" but black didn't allow it.

Whoah, how did that happen?
Quick game... but it doesn't look good for white.
BTW, I don't like the Old Style notation. I think I understood it now, but it feels unnecessary difficult...

This is what was used before the new notation. If you see any old chess games they will be in that notation.It was and is still very common. But I know both .But this form was the one I learned first.
