Magic Kaito arc in Conan

Until I am blatantly proven wrong, I am still guessing that the next major part of the Detective Conan storyline (after this Okiya Subaru stuff is finished) will focus on Kaito Kid and most likely will be at least somewhat similar to what Magic Kaito would have been had it had a real ending. It'll probably tie into the Black Organization stuff, although how much is arguable.

We don't even know if the organization from MK is the black organization. So far the kaito kid appearances didn't have any importance to the plot so why to start after so many years?

before I say anything, you know how I feel about spoilers. You will say nothing else about the manga here.

I don't read the manga. I enjoyed the Okiya Subaru stuff for a while and still think it is going somewhere awesome and still think Okiya Subaru is awesome. But I have to admit the last two Subaru cases were pretty lame. I'm sure the next one will be better though...I'm very sure.  ;)

But I meant after the Okiya Subaru stuff has a good conclusion they probably WILL go to something new (that's how arcs often work  :P).

Also I am too lazy to quote Kor, I somewhat agree that it is very possible that Kid might never have too much of an importance to the main plot. However, I can't see both Kid not having major importance to the plot and Magic Kaito never continuing. So I am at least sure that one of those two things will happen.

I do think that sometimes Gosho does stuff for the sake of making DC longer more than any other reason, so adding the continuation and conclusion of another of his stories (that admit it, is more popular thanks to Conan than Magic Kaito itself) that has already become a canon part of the series while connecting it to DC's plot is both a brilliant idea and would make DC longer.

you know what i fear most? that he won't continue conan, just like MK.

I really doubt he would do that unless he is forced to by a lack of fan interest (and that would be weird...in Japan at least). And I think it's assumed that MK wasn't continued because of DC's unexpectedly huge popularity anyway.

not completely sure but if it lacked any popularity, I wouldn't be surprised AT ALL. At least, it would no longer be in Shonen Sunday.

I can't see Conan ever lacking popularity however.

Not with DCTP around. We are all reminded everyday how much DC is to us. That's why I love DCTP :-x

Kid can be a very valuable aid in taking down the BO-- a master of disguise equal to Yukiko and Vermouth. (They DID have the same master after all..) And the Black Knight robbery can hardly be called an ending anyway.

I really hope Kaitou Kid will gain some sort of importance to the plot. Either that, or Magic Kaito needs to be continued. I would be very unhappy if MK's plot never got resolved or tied into DC's in any way whatsoever. D:

But in the short term, a Kid heist where Hakuba shows up would be more than enough to keep me content for quite a while. <3

I don't know about a Magic Kaito story arc in DC, but Aoyama-sensei does plan on finishing MK. (In the Q & A at the very end of vol. 4, Aoyama-sensei's answer to the question: "When are you going to write volume 5?", he answered, "...Sometime within this century")<<< I hope that's true...

That would be awesome, but I would love to see the MK storyline resolved within DC. I want it to be resolved someday, because it would be terrible to leave Toichi unavenged...

Conan might run into Snake on a heist. Then, depending on whether or not Aoyama-sensei decides that he's with the BO, They'll either realize that they have the same enemy or at least Conan will realize that Kid has a serious motive behind the stealing, and either way they may start working together. Which means more Kid appearances. Which makes me a happy fangirl

I dnt think the MK organization is the same as BO cuz the codenames r different....but if they were the same, u would have to read MK to understand the DC plot, making Kaito a big part of the storyline
(which i  dont find very appealing)

Kaito Kid should stay out of DC's business....

but a few guest appearances wouldnt hurt

It's possible that they're connected. A friend of mine suggested that "Snake", as a codename, may be short for the liquor Snakebite. After all, as the fourth OVA shows, he has multiple codenames.
