A game from (iirc) the last century.
I had a demo of it in a disk with many demos to many games. I don't know its name, but a direct translation from what there was in that games disc is "Time Traveler" or "Time Slider", both of these, though, are probably not the real names of that game, however it was indeed a game about traveling.
What I remember from the game:
You play as a dude with black hair, wearing blue and yellow spandex. He time travels to different periods in history (according to some pictures, he probably also goes to the future at some point). You need to walk through the level fight the enemies you encounter on the way. I've never completely understood if there are true objectives to the levels other than killing the enemies. You pick some blue stuff on the way too, I'm not sure for what, though.
In the demo game, there were three levels:
In a prehistoric period (in which you fight against Neanderthals and a Sabre-toothed cat)
In a medieval period (fighting guards/knights)
In a wild west settings (fighting......well, cowboys.....)
Another thing is that if your enemies had weapons, after you kill them, you could usually take their weapons and use them. So after you killed a guard, you could use his sword, after you killed a cowboy, you could use his gun.
One more thing to note: it was a 3 dimensional game, and the graphics looked very good (considering its time, at least).
It also might not be about Time Travel at all and I misunderstood the settings of the game, but I'm pretty sure it was.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Searching for an old game
I'd be inclined to say Chrono Trigger, but it doesn't match up with the wild west not that i can remember at least.
