Since I'm only half way through this anime, I'm trying not to read any of the earlier posts. But anyway, NHK is AMAZING.  It's so hilarious and Yamazaki is definitely my favorite character. Saito is an enjoyable protagonist too. As for Misaki, no opinions for her yet.

it's quite a sad series overall, there are some funny moments but they are usually accompanied with depressing story arcs

Yeah, I agree with that. The recent suicide arc I just finished was depressing. Sorry, when I meant hilarious, it was that some of the moments that are funny like with the galge and Yamazaki yelling at Satou.

I love this serie! Both anime and manga!

Back in 2007 (not sure, anyway...) i laughed my ass off with the anime and here in my country - Brazil - the manga wasn't avaliable.

That year i went for vacation to Argentina and by a chace i found the manga in spanish, i have all the volumes! /o/

I love the story cause it's not just bullshit, despiste being a comedy serie, there's serious matters in it, this combination can't get better for me.

I just got TokyoPop's translated novel of Welcome to the NHK, I got it for about 20-30$, which IMO is a sweet deal since it's out of print and people are selling it for like, 100$.

Anyways, looking forward to reading it, NHK is probably my favorite series ever
