what do people think about kaitkou kids english VA

I was wondering what everyone thought of the VA in the english dub. please say why you think the way you do. in other words no I hate the dub and it is evil so his voice must be bad. personally I like his voice it has the perfect mix of mystery, mischievous madness, and genus

The voice actor of Kaitou Kid is the same of Shinichi, and personally, for an English dub, it wasn't enough. There are plenty of voices out there in English that could've done much better. Even though KID's voice sounded a bit mysterious, it wasn't the same spark as Kappei's voice in the Japanese version.

I like it, personally. But I agree with Shinran. Jerry Jewell doesn't have the same spark as Yamaguchi Kappei, but you have to admit that he does still have a spark. I think that Jerry Jewell is a good enough VA for Kudou and Kuroba. He has emotion in his speech, which is something you can't say about a lot of VAs.

The English adaptation doesn't give you the same feelings as the Japanese, but I don't think it's supposed to. If somebody does something one way, you don't want to just copy them. An artist never copies anything exactly. It's creative and more original when you do it to your own style. Both Kappei and Jerry represent the characters well, just with their own little twists.

We can't expect Kappei to suddenly learn perfect English with a perfect accent and play the part in two languages, now can we? That would be ridiculous.

Gosho CHOSE Kappei. Gosho helps choose the seiyuu's in Japan. In America, not so much, obviously. Jerry does good in Inuyasha, but he fails in DC...T_T;

I'm sure there is some lonely kid out there watching the Japanese anime, mimicking the voices perfectly who can do a better job than those people hired by Funi.
