Need a flatmate

My flatmate and I are in a serious situation. We need to find two new tenants to replace two of our flatmates who are moving out in June, but we haven't been able to find many people who are interested because we don't know many people. Right now, our options are a) pay double rent ourselves or b)pay rent-and-a-half ourselves and give one of the tenancy spots to a friend-of-a-friend who is really quite creepy and we'd rather not live with if we can avoid it.

SO, if you live in Edinburgh or know anybody that does (and isn't an axe-murderer;poisoners welcome) and could do with a cheap but decent flat (£250/month rent, bills and utilities tend to come in at less than £30/month excluding gas which is quarterly), please PM me!

never thought I'd live to see the day that DCTP would have housing listings.

If I said I was interested what would you say?

I'd say PM me with an email address or phone number so I can answer any questions or sort out a flat viewing.

We're advertising everywhere we know, and most of the places I know are online XP

I'm in University. I'm advertising around, but at the moment we are having no luck at all. Hence actually advertising here. Seriously, as much as I love most people on this forum, I know pretty much all of them are in other countries, so do you really think I'd advertise here first?

But seriously, we need to find people by April because I cannot afford to pay double rent.

I see why you are not having much luck, as most of the students move around in the summer holidays.
Good luck anyway

Not most students in Edinburgh. We need to work all summer to pay to live in Edinburgh. Many of the foreign students especially choose to live and work during the summer rather than go home for months, because overseas summer flights are expensive and foreign students have to pay tuition.

We know several people who were looking for leases starting in June, but all of them found places already. Three people who were interested in our flat changed their minds, two because they decided to room with people they know better and one because he succeeded in his application to remain in dorms.

Probably the major problem is that almost every single first-year stays in dorms, and second-years and above all choose to live with people they know well, and neither of us personally know many people well. I have a few friends that I'm really close to, but all of them already have places. It's a nightmare.

If I could find an excuse to move there, I'd love to help you out. However, I'm not sure I could manage to get all the paperwork and whatnot done in time to move in for when you need peoples by. ~_~*
