Perkele does, but probably not in the context he's thinking of (though you'd have to ask an actual Fin to be sure :x). And I totally didn't just reply in order to link to SATW...

Sacred Band of Thebes - Dealt massive blows to the Spartan armies (especially Leonidas). One of the earliest special forces of all time, the Sacred Band was 300 man strong and built of only the top, hand picked, (male) married couple soldiers of Thebes.

Well svon, verdamme is part of gad verdamme (which means something like EWWWWWW or YUCK!), gadver for short.
And the actual curse is god verdomme or god verdikkeme (and they mean god make me stupid and god make me fat).

@Thebes dudes: How come I never learned about these guys?

They are so very cool. What kind of records do we have (like is it just official documents and stuff, or did people chronicle their achievements in a more narrative way)?
Also, was it a requirement that they be married, or could you be single? What if your partner died while you were still enlisted?

1.) Because you don't listen to me.
2.) I believe they did the Immortal system (always consist of the same number of forces). I'm not sure what happen to those who lost their husband, but the point of having it be couples was that everything would be based on surviving as or dying ass a couple
