yeah, saw this mentioned earlier. On the one hand, it's suicide, so it shouldn't really be funny. On the other hand...  :-X

not to mention, I hear that (naruto spoilz possibly)
Spoiler:
the dude comes back to life anyway, which just puts salt in the wound.

Great, another "TV is evil!!!" article. :|

And that dad... If you knew he was starting to have troubles separating fact from fiction, don't just tell him to stop watching TV. Do something about it. -_-

The kid was also abused alcohol.......even though i dont get what it has to do with anything, and why those smart doctor people blame it on alcohol. o.o

Not quite sure what your saying here. Alcohol abuse can indeed be detrimental to the mind and cause people to be reckless. It's...actually weird to try and explain since it's sort of one of those things that just is. Alcohol abuse is bad and can cause people to start descending into very dark periods of their lives. That's why there's interventions: to stop people from abusing alcohol.

I'm not quite sure how to word this, actually, since I've never had someone question the fact that alcohol abuse can cause people to not be in the right state of mind. That's why the doctor's would point it out: it very much could have to do with his actions. Alcohol can make you impulsive - it can make you make decisions you otherwise wouldn't even consider, mostly because the consequences become blurred. If he abused alcohol, especially if he was abusing it around the time he saw the death of the character, it would numb his sense of consequence and thus make it easier for him to make the decision to end his life.

How sad. :( Not going to read the article though.

Alcohol is also a depressant, so that will also factor into the equation.

I noticed this peculiarity in the article.

[quote]Naturally, everything is blamed on the anime and parents say how “he spent too much time in front of the TVâ€

Oh my god, I can't believe this guy. Is he supposed to be an actual journalist? Because that's really unprofessional. Anybody else have this article from a different source?
I think you're missing the point where you're reading the article on an anime news site :P I doubt they're trying to be professional, just look at the site's layout.

If you wanted a more normal article, you could check out the dailymail link instead.

Oh, it's DailyMail.co.uk

For a moment, I thought it was another .co.uk link from a different site that is sort of like a tabloid with their articles, so I didn't even bother with it upon first glance. Thanks for pointing out it wasn't that same one I'm thinking of.

EDIT: Wait a second, on that DailyMail.co.uk link, it says this.
On an average day, about five Russians younger than 20 kill themselves.
Anybody have a study or something to validate if this is true or not? That sounds really awful and somewhat implausible.

same

not caring > being horribly depressed and killing yourself as well. Desperate attempt to justify it I know.

It's the Daily Mail so it's false. Seriously, have you seen the amount of (contradictory) things they claim cause cancer ::)

I'll give you a tip. The majority of British newspapers can *not* be trusted (especially the Daily Mail and the Sun). There's a few relatively unbiased ones out there, but the rest... well :-\.
