Single player, I guess. Mostly for the fact that I find multi player games much more addicting and time consuming.

Multi-Player, it's more challenging, fun, and you can kill more people.

Multiplayer~

Single player. 1) No one I'm friends with plays the same games as me 2) I like being able to fully enjoy playing a game if I'm alone. Multiplayers are fun too, they're just more fun with people. And people might not always be around. (And online playing has people that could beat me in any game I might play )

Single player because I don't always have someone around willing to play with me.  Bonus points if it can be single or multi-player.

Like Commi said, best is both, a singleplayer and multiplayer option.

Actually, both. It should basically be a single player game that can also be played as multiplayer (over LAN/Hamachi), like Age Of Empires. As most of the games I play are strategy games, most actually fulfil that criterion.
Console games, however, should always be multiplayer (offline multiplayer, that is). In fact, that is, IMO, the main advantage of consoles over a PC.

Went with single player,  though, as that is,a t least IMO, the basic requirement for any game. No game should force you to have an internet connection (and yes, I'll never buy a game that needs to connect to some server for start-up; if a game I want to play requires that, I'll get myself a cracked version of it).
