Well, I tried to deal with it in the more "humane" way and just trap it in a safe trap so I can probably release it in the park or something. Unfortunately, the mouse doesn't want to get in my ex-roommate's trap, so I bought traps that will kill it. Sorry mouse.

As for the poll, seems like I'll have to go with option number 5.

I'd try the 'catch and release as far away as possible' method...but I was sorely tempted to choose the 7th option just because it made me laugh.

I opened the thread, my eyes first say "I put a trap", and I said out loud, "IT'S A TRAP!"

I don't feel like looking at the question now.

The cat will get to it. Now, if only she would take it outside and bury it, too...

This. When handling animals I always try to be a bit more gentle but anything that could carry disease like roaches or rats I just can't handle! ToT

My cats catch them. Circle of life.

Let the cat or dog get them.  They'd do it before I even noticed it was there.

I caught a mouse once and released it. I then caught another mouse a few weeks later, but in my attempt to put it into something, it got away. Could've been rid of it had I just killed it, so that's how I go now. I mean sure, if it happens to get caught, I'll let it out, but if that's not the situation we're in, sorry mouse.

Option 1, though the reason they even get into my room in the first place is because my cat brings them in alive *and then* tries to kill them. She's weird like that. Anyway, not only do I not like them being killed, I've also seen enough headless/bodiless mice courtesy of my cat I don't really want to see anymore. I'd rather waste time trying to keep the cat out of the room and getting the mouse than wake up again in the morning and have to clean up its corpse .

We set a trap that wouldn't kill the rat, then we'll just wait for it to die there. :V

The key word is probably "mouse"
