for space in general, Mars will be within two centuries probs. We could do it quicker, but politics and no real current reason to make me think it'll be a ways away.
for space beyond our solar system, within the next millennium, we'll need some pretty serious breakthroughs for that.

Heavily depends on the scale. If we're talking about a small station with scientists, I'd say within the next 50 years, but barely. If we're talking about people actually living there, at least two centuries, probably more (and if we've managed to wipe ourselves out until then, never - obviously).
