So I randomly decided to look back at poll 508 and I saw this post:

Outside of Batman's rogue gallery, DC has really bad villains.  Marvel definitely wins.

Marvel without any question. DC has so few memorable villains outside of Batman's stable. Even just the Spider-Man villains in Venom, Lizard, Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Hobgoblin, etc are better than all of DC's non-Batman villains, so when you add in the likes of Magneto and company, it's not much contest.

I'm more partial to DC in general so. Went DC.

Besides, Detective Conan has awesome villains! *shot*

I don't know very many from either, so I picked Marvel.  They have the better heroes (in general), so why not the better villains as well?

Oh please.  Spidey's rogue gallery is close to Batman's level as it is.  Throw in the Avengers' villains, the respective characters within the Avengers' villains, X-men villains, Doctor Doom, etc., and Marvel clearly comes out on top.

Not really, spiderman's villains are much more like superman's, but a lot less powerful. Loki was lame even in actual Norse mythology let alone Thor's universe, Iron Man's are racist/anti-soviet to the point of offensive, Capt American's are pretty one note, Mefisto is just hilarious, and Doctor Doom is good but not enough to justify the statement that Marvel's is clearly better.

The x-men villains: Magneto has been a worthless prat for a long ass time, Toad isn't really anything, Sabertooth's power is being a troll, Rouge's been a good guy for a long time, Onslaught isn't better than the big monsters of DC, Juggernaught is like the charge monsters from video games, Apocalypse is not any better than Darkseid, Dark Phoenix was just the plot of some rich dudes, other cases of evil Jean was cyclopes dumping her clone, but Mystique is pretty good.

The Marvel villains always seemed to me like they had more depth than the DC villains.
The only good DC villains I can think of are from Batman...

They really don't have any more, the problem is that the time in which the DC ones were thought up (as opposed to the spiderman and x-men ones) were from a time that their meaning wouldn't be graspable. Just like with Marvel heroes, people are confusing angst and "relateable" qualities with depth. Also people seem to think that just people they are given some shallow reason why they're evil makes them inherently better.

Also, a lot of Batman's villains are actually retcon back stories or from a later time than people think they are. Batman's aren't all too different, just the cartoon executed them really well.

Batman and Teen Titans villains are great imao, so I chose DC

I can't think of any DC villains that I like that weren't fought by Batman, so I'll go with Marvel since there are tons of good villains in Spiderman, X-Men, Iron Man, etc. Also, depending on how you regard him, Deadpool is one of my favourite hero/villain/antihero/antivillain/mercs ever, so :x
