March Madness begins this week, and it shall be, as it always is, incredibly hype. Since I'm lazy and I know some people out there may not recognize it by its namesake, here's Google to define it for you:

"March Madness is a phenomenon that grips the (American) national sports psyche from the first week of March through the first week of April. March Madness is the moniker that is given to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Men's Basketball Tournament. This tournament determines the national champions of college basketball."

If you're still wondering how that works with concern to you:

In short, you'll make out a bracket of who you think the winners will be, and whoever gets the most right is awesome. That's about it. You don't really even have to know anything about college basketball; it's just a fun distraction that you only have to spend a few minutes filling out after they're announced and then watch it play out. For those of you living outside the US, every single game is streamed live online--and they shouldn't be region-locked.

Pitt screwed me over last year biig time. I had them going all the way.  Also Notre Dame and Texas early exits didn't help me early.

Vanderbilt always ends up letting me down, so who knows... you may be onto something there...

That said, I do have one major upset in mind that's going to be on my bracket. It will probably break the whole thing for me again, but I'm not entirely gun shy just yet.

The loss of Fab Melo's interior defense and rebounding is going to really, really hurt Syracuse. Just sayin'. Better adjust your brackets if you had Syracuse going too far. IMO they'll make it to the 16, but that's it.

Everyone knows Duke will win it all. I feel pity for the other teams that are left to 'compete' against them. The only competition will be between Duke players who will compete amongst one another for the chance to dominate the inferior cowards of the opposing team.

Everyone needs to vote for Temple in Philadelphia. It's the main campus of the university I go to in Japan, and just that means you should root for them :)
