I had just read it last week. I dunno. I felt that it was too cheesy. And no, I think it won't overcome Harry Potter either. I admit that I had fallen in love with Edward Cullen...but he is too cheesy to be considered as a Byronic hero. I do not want to continue reading with the rest of the book anymore. :(

I finished the first one yesterday (it took me two days)... not the best book I´ve ever read but still really good. ;D
Well, I promised myself not to start reading the second one until exams are over or I will never get to learn....

I've read all the books, and, frankly, I ended up not liking them. The first one was okay, but then they all seemed to go downhill, in my opinion. Try saying that in my school, though, where every girl loves those books except for me and most of my friends (most of which who are guys, which doesn't count). I'm fine with people liking them, but I didn't care for them.  :)

Escargotpudding :O!  *glompers*  I never knew you are over at DCTP as well~

LOL I love how you said it's overated then added you read all 4.

For me I read up to the part they sparkle in the sun...then I never picked it up again.  I might have to though, my roommate is rabid over that series and won't leave me the heck alone.

So who here actually likes this series?  If so can you explain to me why?  I just don't get it.

its actually funny, caz my brother started to read it b4 me- wich was weird... he told me caz it was told from a girls prespective but then he really liked the story n wen i started to read it- i simply fell in luv with the story, the characters (edward is just wow) n so i luvd the series! i never read series in a week so this is a record!
i thot it was written in a simple way, easy to get caught up with, and the romance involved was kinda intresting-for teens. n mayb y ppl loved the series (i think) is caz of the characters n how unnatural they r; like edward (if he was real) wud b like the most wanted, n the fact tht bella is just plain simple cud b just n e girl, n jacob who is like the best friend...  n its all intresting events tht develops among them n stuff...
its a very gud book for those who donot read much caz eventually once they start with twilight, they do get caught up n want to read the rest...

I have watched the movie: not very satisfied due to the quality;
I have read Twilight: I'm save it for later, because I have yet to take my precious time reading page by page;
I have New Moon: which I haven't touch, so currently have no comment

Eclipse: currently out of stock *sniff*
Breaking Dawn: same as above T_T

Was going to buy it from my local bookstore, but I saw the movie and was quite disappointed. Is the book way better? Like the Harry Potter movie wasn't as good as the books in my opinion, so if you people say the book is way better, I might give it a try.

Kirite!! I just saw this right now, hehe. '^_^

Yes, I read all four because not only are all of my friends obsessed with the series, but I thought I should read all before judging the series. There are some people who say they hate Twilight after reading the first 5 pages... -_-
"The plot had zero substance, all it did was describe edward's appearance for half the hyping book.
The characters have no depth or development whatsoever. The attempted romance is also incredibly cliche.
Bella is beautiful but doesn't believe that she is, despite the fact that she has a vampire and the entire male population of her school drooling over her. Meyer tried to make her a strong heroine, but didn't quite make it. Edward is a brooding, angsty vampire with no flaws, perfect hair, beautiful eyes and a body to die for. "
this sums up the first twilight book: Image

I liked the books when there was vampire on vampire action.  I mean at the end of the fourth book I set it down and cried from lost hopes and dreams.  Don't read the end of book four, unless you like super-happy endings.  I mean they didn't even gain any real 'life' experiences, the book has no moral to teach, it was just unrealistic peace.  GRRRR.

Sorry I vented on your poor souls.

Btw Escargotpudding- I loved the first picture.
