SOS!! Laptop wireless not working

Can anyone help with my Asus laptop Wireless? So I have turned on my wireless, the wireless light is green, but when I open "network and sharing center" and click "connect to a network" it appear like this:



What's the problem? Can anyone help me?

is your laptop new? If so, are its network drivers up to date?

is your router new? If so, did you set up the wireless network?

No, I have used my laptop for 3 years.
No, I have used it for more than half a year!

I had already restarted it many times, but it doesn't do anything..

Try to get another laptop to connect to it. If it fails, most likely the wireless is failing. If it works, your laptop is definetely the problem. That's all I can think to help

I might be misunderstanding ya, but it sounds like it should be the exact opposite of what you said.

If another computer can't connect to his computer, his computer would be the problem, not the wireless, and if it can connect, then his laptop's wireless is fine and it's the router that's failing.

edit: Also, try directly accessing your router via an ethernet cable and whatever IP it uses (google your brand/model to find out) and try to set up the network again. Also, did you have a password on the network?

Do you mean I try and use another computer to connect to my current computer? I use another computer to connect to the wireless, it can connect the wireless.

OK, anyway can you tell me will the wireless spoiled? Is there a wireless thing inside my laptop that will spolied? I am just thinking maybe my brother make me can't use the wireless so that he could tell my parents and ask them to scold me and use my weekly money to repair it. My brother is a computer expert, he always like to tease me by making the computer spoiled, even when I talk to him he also won't tell me is he the one who make me can't use the thing. It's not the first time he use that to tease me, one time he make me can't connect to the internet even I have my cable pluged in, I figure the trick, he just press F2 repeatedly when the computer starts and when the logo comes out and then he just change the .... (I forgot what is the name) to disable from enabled.

My brother is the admistrator of this laptop, he can do anything to make me can't use the wireless by editing here and there. I am only the limited user so I can't do anything unless I have proof so that I could tell my parents. My brother has his own laptop, so it won't affect him. This is my Mom's Laptop.

Please help!! My brother says I am the one who spoiled it!!
