Being a Grammar Nazi at Possibly the Wrong Time

Postby Moriarty » October 23rd, 2011, 1:41 am

I just trolled for 2 hours on grammar. It was funny for me and my friend.Unfortunately it was after 4 people died from a drunk driver. They were students from my school.

The entire thing was removed, or I was blocked from the page.

Also, the first commenter removed their post, which said it was the wrong place and time for this.

So... what? Are we supposed to applaud you for this? Tell you "good job"? ::)

It really was the wrong time for that.

In a dark way it's kind of humorous, like kicking a baby but I agree. It would have been acceptable and funny dark-humor wise later- but no, not right now. It would have been funny if they died a long time ago and you were being a grammar Nazi and somebody told you "dude, they're dead." and you responded with an "O_O...oh. I see..." but not this. I did the same thing a while back but I didn't keep arguing once I found out they were dead. I apologized and repeatedly slammed my head down into the desk, then I apologized some more. You should have just stepped down and apologized for it.

I was just thinking that, since none of what I said was actually about the deceased, it wasn't really that big a deal.

Besides, I can now use this for research on how people act when something happens in society around them. And it sort of turned out to be a placebo effect.... Yet, it also seemed like people wanted an excuse to be upset, and that is why they got so mad at me. They saw it as a way to vent.

At least, this is part of the conclusion I have drawn.

I didn't ask for that now did I?

I expected some people to see the dark humour in it, and some people did.

Gonna be honest here. I'd rather tell a bad truth, than a good lie. The way it was spelled made me feel like the person who made the page was disrespecting the deceased, so I explained how I, as a reader felt, with the intention of others coming to the conclusion that, people may see it that way. All the comments were fuelled by name calling, raging people.

So I picked on their grammar too.

Now we wait till our REAL grammar nazi turns up... even she won't ganna be impressed with this.

unless the said dead person was English teacher/Professor/Grammer Nazi, he/she wouldn't give a damn about few mispelt  words or grammatically incorrect worlds. NO ONE expcecs the funeral to be perfect. You were just being absolute @## about things no one cares! You see its just like throwing a mop in the face of the people who were mourning for their lost ones. To them you look like you don't give a damn about this person . They don't see you as shinning knight of the truth. Be more tactical next time will yer.
