First.

Especially the long running series. Putting in random fillers at times where you definitely wouldn't put in a filler. Or the drawing quality sometimes goes down extremely with the motto: "That Anime is already popular, no need to try to give it some good quality anymore"
Or they put in some random endings in the anime, tho the manga is still running -.-

But then there are also some awesome animes where you like it better than the manga :V

Depends on what you mean by "used to be," since there were a lot of sucky shows in the 80s and 90s, (and probably before, just haven't seen many of them) but there were a lot of good ones too. To me, it seems like there are about the same number of good shows, but waaaaaaaaay more bad or mediocre shows, probably because there are just more and more shows in general nowadays. So while the overall ratio has kind of tilted in favor of crap, I don't think the good shows are any worse than they used to be.

@Pofa: It's a lot easier to run into bad shows now a days and bad ones from years past aren't remembered (unless mentioned), which I think gives it that illusion. I don't think the given ratio can ever really change.

It's either option 1 or 2 for me.

It really depends though. Some anime have gone bad since even though it started out good. Some became better when it started out bad. Although actually, it all depends on the viewers preferences to whether they like an anime or not.

I wouldn't say art styles are getting progressively better, but I would agree that production quality's going up. Unfortunately, that doesn't make a show good

I'd say it used to be better, then got worse, and is starting to get better in the last year or so.  I don't really see an option for that.

Can't say anything about the other two but Seikon was utter crap IMO
