I FINALLY saw "The Princess and the Frog", and I actually loved it. I think it was classic good, and absolutely gorgeous. Yay for a return to cel animation! Also, Ray x Evangeline = OTP

What? No! I love the animated movies! They're so much more beautiful than CGI! I mean, can you honestly deny that stuff like the visual sequence for "Colours of the Wind" is among the most gorgeous things you've ever seen?

... I don't really remember that, actually. But I do agree with you. Cel-animation is so much more beautiful. The only people who can pull the CGI off other than for Meet the Robinsons are the people who made the first one, which is Pixar. (Yes. Toy Story was the first of it's kind.)

It was, and it was beautifully done. Of course, it does help that since the movie was mostly focused on toys rather than humans, it managed to avoid Uncanny Valley for the most part (though this is apparently the reason Andy doesn't have a dad; they could animate women and children fairly well, but for some reason attempts to animate men went badly.)

Fun fact: While making Aladdin, very few lines were written for the genie. Mostly, they just wrote "Robin says something", let Robin Williams loose on the scene, and then animated it to fit his ramblings.

This was apparently half the script for "Mork and Mindy" as well. You just can't write for Robin Williams, even when he's not high.
