actually my post wasn't actually meant to be a joke as much as an obvious observation and I only realized it was perceived as mocking them when someone else made a joke that was certainly meant to be mocking them.

The weird part is that what I just said is actually true.

And even if it wasn't it's better than the thinly veiled "DUR HUR I VOTE DEMOCRAT DUR HUR I VOTE REPUBLICAN" silliness.

Nice holier than thou argument.  What exactly does being registered as independent accomplish?  Being registered as D or R doesn't mean you can't vote for the other, just can't vote in the other's primaries.  Guess what?  Independent can't vote in either set of primaries.  So really, other than being able to take such a soapbox stance, what's it good for?
