xpon wrote:i guess the most suitable solution is to buy a external harddisk to save all your data.. and just use the comuter!.. if you switch the HD. between the 2 computer.. that mean you must re-instal in 2 computer.
while if you only switch the computer, you just need to instal games in the new computer and access all data in portable HD.!.
xpon wrote:in that case you need to buy a brand new Harddisk!
the 3.5"
it wont cost much.
btw.. why dont use the same computer but 2 users???
at first i think the original HD is going to used in other place... and if it about files.. then i can understand!.. but if there is no secret files.. you can always create new user and instal the games..
but i still think buying a new HD is better... and just keep using XP!.. it good ...
dont use vista.. 7 is better!.

As for having Vista, either I will have to buy XP x64 or Windows 7, but right now I can't afford it. But if Vista won't work properly I will buy Windows 7 later. XP x32 can't handle all the RAM so then it will be wasted. Also I think my current harddrive will be bigger when put in her PC, since I think something about my current PC makes it unable to understand just how big the hardrive is. Can't remember what it was though, think it was the motherboard.

I haven't heard anything about x32 vs x64 mattering in regards to HD space, but I could be wrong.
Also, realize that if you switch out your HD with hers (and not just add yours in along with hers), if that was her only HD you're going to have to reinstall the OS anyway (because I'm guessing your system doesn't use a 64bit OS), which would probably require formatting your drive.
xpon wrote:well... your HD wont be the same.. because you need to Install the new OS.
and AFAIK the XP will support quite a big RAM!
BTW. the Vista you going to instal is the same serial with your mom right? can it be done? wouldnt you need to buy another lisence
